Re: bass limiter/compressor batch process help
A "do-it-yourself" software option would be to find a multi-band compressor plug-in that works with Audacity ... G-Multi is a free multi-band compressor plug-in which works in Audacity [on windows]. Although I'm not sure if that type of plug-in will work in Audacity's batch-processing mod...

Re: opening more than 1 program
We do now "unofficially" support running two instances of Audacity (as opposed to having two Audacity project windows open in one instance), but it does not work on Windows due to a bug. You can simulate it by running Audacity in separate user accounts, but that may well fail on Windows 8 ...

Re: Export Issue
No. The ever-increasing time remaining, if one track is much shorter than the other, is only in 2.1.1 and 2.1.2. The export is fine and finishes in the normal time, but the progress bar and time remaining don't show you that.kozikowski wrote:But this wasn't a problem on 2.1.0?

Re: How do I paste into tracks without moving everything?
This could easily be solved by allowing the Insert key to function as a toggle between insert and overwrite (like most editing applications) so that when pasting in overwrite mode the samples is simply placed where you set it and no other information is changed on that track. Yes so it is a feature...

Re: Export Issue
I have recorded and successfully exported several voice files. Now when I am trying to merge them and add music audio files and attempt to export it begins and then the progress window disappears and does not complete the export. I have tried to export as MP3 and WAV files with the same results. Do...

Re: vst plugins aren't being added by audacity
Please you should know by now... tell us your version of Audacity (all three numbers, see the pink panel at the top of the page). ;) http://www.voxengo.com/product/overtonegeq is recognised by Audacity 2.1.2 and 2.1.3-alpha. Be sure to install only the VST2 32-bit version of that plugin and only the...

Re: Audacity seems to not play the last 0.2 seconds
However I could still play audio in Audacity while Goldwave was playing with an exclusive option chosen, Weird. I wonder what they mean by "exclusive". Perhaps the behaviour is different on different versions of Windows? The Help says: GoldWave takes exclusive control of the audio device ...

Re: Selections, Time Shfit Tool, and Label Tracks
Have been installing the alpha updates as them come out via alpha webpage RSS feed. Suppose that's a bad habit? :geek: Testing is always appreciated :) Please just remember those are not builds intended for production use. Export and backup is good. There's still an issue adding SILENCE into the AU...

Re: Audacity seems to not play the last 0.2 seconds
I just tested Goldwave using WASAPI API (its other choice is DirectSound). It has no problem playing a full track at either low or high buffer setting (it calls that setting "latency"). Does Goldwave open and close its ports each time a play / record command is started / stopped, or does ...
