Re: opening more than 1 program

We do now "unofficially" support running two instances of Audacity Could you explain that Gale. That does not appear to be the case on Linux. It does work on Linux as well as Mac. Assuming the same user wants to run two instances of Audacity, the requirements for it to work are: At least ...

Re: -data file won't load

The "log" is empty! It should not be empty. Even if you pressed "Clear" in it by mistake, the Log would have the time and Audacity version number. Have you fixed the problem? If not, open the AUP file again, and if there are error messages, please tell us exactly what they say. ...

Re: -data file won't load

I am running Windows 7. I just upgraded to Audacity 2.1.2 but the file about which I have a question was created in 1.3. I saved a project using "Save as" but when I went to open it later it had disappeared from the recent files and would not open via "open" Both the named AUP f...

Re: Can not get signal on audacity

The 2012 MacBook Pro 13" had one connection you had to reverse in Mac System Preferences. Apple (upper left) > System Preferences > Sound. If so, the Sound Preferences Input and Output tabs had a "Use audio port for:" dropdown. I don't know the icon that was used on the machine for s...

Re: Can not get signal on audacity

You could buy a USB interface to connect the mixer to if the Mac lacks a proper stereo input. i dont think i need it based on all infos ive read till now. If you care about what you are recording, you do. Recording mixer output from playback of the output is very suboptimal. Can you hear the mixer ...

Re: Filter interface bugs

A few of the LADSPA plug-in filters have a bandwidth control. In version 2.1.2 this slider jumps between integer multiples of octaves instead of providing the choice of fractions of an octave. Entering other decimal values in the numeric field does not appear to have the intended effect. This bug a...

Re: Can not get signal on audacity

Ideally you would connect a non-USB mixer to the stereo line-in of the Mac and record from the line-in. You would monitor directly in the mixer. But you don't seem to have a line-in. What is the Mac model? See Apple menu > About This Mac... . This might help XONE:23 User Guide - Allen & Heath . ...

Re: Strange Popping and Clicking Noise in audio

If I record in Garageband everything sounds fine, no pops or anything. However, if I take that same recording, import it to audacity, export it and play it in iTunes, plenty of clicking going on. The export from Audacity should not be adding clicks. Suppose you exit Audacity. Don't have Audacity se...

Re: Converting file to wav. form

I recently upgraded to 2.1.2 audacity. [...] I am doing as follows, recording file, File export Audio, in the file type option i select WAV, and the format options are blank. "WAV (Microsoft) signed 16-bit PCM" is a set format. It has no options to choose, so that is not part of the probl...
