Re: Is anyone building on OSX 10.11.3, Xcode 7.2.1
So it appears that no one is interested in Audacity on the latest OSX. Users whose audio devices won't work on El Capitan are certainly not interested in the latest version of OS X. As of three hours ago, the Mac build is working again, using 10.6 as base SDK, at least on OS X 10.11.3. I have not p...

Re: adding music to an existing track
I wish to add this music as background music to a web site , so what format should I save it as? The site will display only the On/Off button and a volume control Look at the formats or embedded players that the site allows. Usually you would choose MP3. You don't want WAV for the finished file bec...

Re: Problem accessing the mic with 2.1.1 with Azalia sound c
I have run "./configure" and then "make" but compilation is failing because of data type issues: I think this may be fixed in jengelh's fork: https://github.com/jengelh/audacity Unfortunately the pull request from jengelh has merge conflicts with the current audacity/audacity co...

Re: Removing Repetitive Click from Audio file
If your example is typical, use Click Removal to reduce the loudness of the click, then Truncate Silence at default settings. Because the click is now below -20 dB (the upper threshold limit of Truncate Silence), Truncate Silence will regard the click as silence and completely remove it, as well as ...

Re: Please Help with Click Track
In Audacity's Device Toolbar, are you recording with stereo mix (which can only record playback from the built-in sound device) or from WASAPI loopback? If recording with stereo mix then if you can play the click track to a different sound device than the built-in sound device, such as a USB sound c...

Re: Importing mov files take a very long time
I currently do not have a .mov file that I can share Even if I figured out how to make a MOV file with multiple audio streams myself, it may not reproduce the problem. The problem could be only with MOV files written by specific applications. Do you know what application each client uses? For guida...

Are you using system wxWidgets? Audacity will fail to compile with the issues you see in that case, because system wxWidgets on OpenSUSE uses STL. If you self-build wxWidgets with no configure arguments I would assume Audacity will build against it. Gale Gale Andrews wrote: Perhaps tgf should build ...

Re: headphone jack or pre out jacks?
I would say, use the headphones out. As I understand it, pre-outs are unamplified signals meant for connecting to an external amplifier that has pre-ins. So pre-out may be too weak for the stereo input of a Mac, assuming you have a stereo input. The headphones output will be amplified. If you had a ...

Re: Help! Sound Lost From Recording
Please tell us what version of Audacity you are using (all three numbers, see the pink panel at the top of the page). It is best to use the current Audacity 2.1.2 from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . Even if you already have that version, reinstall it, but half-way through installation, p...
