Re: Initial window dimensions

There's a bug logged for Audacity on Linux, but quite possibly on Windows too, that crept in when the version of wxWidgets was updated. Which bug number is that, Steve? We made an incomplete bug fix prior to 2.1.2 so that if any part of the Audacity window was off the monitor when Audacity was clos...

Re: AUDACITY STOPS RECORDING MUSIC FROM YOUTUBE

You are obviously used to installing software. Assuming you have copyright holders' permission to record the YouTube videos, why not install one of the many YouTube extensions that let you downoad the video? If you do want to edit the audio in Audacity, install FFmpeg then drag the video into Audaci...

Re: Clicking noise - only on one side of an audio tape

So if you re-record the tape are the clicks in exactly the same place as before? This is a long shot but go to the system Sound Preferences, "Input" tab and ensure that any "Use ambient noise reduction" checkbox is unchecked. You may have to select the built-in internal microphon...

Re: I dont want to record audio playback

When I toggle the "To Phones" button, it cuts the basssignal output to my phones, but the playalong gets boosted in volume by a little bit. It still records the playalong and the basssignal, but the latter of which gets a low-quality, high white-noise recording. Are the "To Phones&qu...

Re: Importing mov files take a very long time

Do you still have any of the one-stream files and are those now slow? Did the problem start only after installing 2.1.2 and going back to 2.1.1? Or before then? Are you sure you quit Audacity before deleting audacity.cfg? If you still had your custom keyboard shortcuts the reset did not work. I sugg...

Re: I dont want to record audio playback

As you have it Selected recording device: 18 - Lijn (USB AUDIO CODEC) Selected playback device: 16 - Luidsprekers (USB AUDIO CODEC) should work as long as you prevent the mixer sending the playback back to Audacity to be recorded. Have you tried pressing "(USB/2-Trk) To Phones"? Someone in...

Re: Please Help with Click Track

Using Windows WASAPI and the SPD SX as a direct in, I'm recording in stereo of course. Instead of having play back through my headphones (which are connected to the SPD SX), I've got playback running through the laptop speakers themselves. I think this is sort of the same solution as using a usb so...

Re: Help! Sound Lost From Recording

I just tried it, reinstalled and reset the preferences then opened the file. Still no luck :( Are you using Audacity 2.1.2 from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows ? If not, please do so. What format are the recordings in before you convert them to MP3? You lose quality by converting them to M...
