Re: making audio more even compressing it as little as posib
Envelope Tool is good but does it have some sort of numeric indication to see the exact numbers (time and amplitude)? No that is a "feature request". However you can use the Audio Track Dropdown Menu to change the Vertical Scale to Waveform (dB) then look left at the scale. You can also z...

Re: Disable Gain and Pan sliders
Presumably if the disable option was in the Tracks Menu, it would apply to selected tracks? I was thinking of it applying to all tracks in the current project. If we want "per track" options, then they would go in the Track dropdown menu. As long as you say "All Gain and Pan sliders&...

Re: MY SOUND IS DIFFERENT THROUGHOUT THE SONG
It's connected to a usb audio interface. Would that still be the same thing? It's a very cheap interface though What is the make and model number of that interface? If it has none, that may be why you have a problem. Regardless, you can always check (right-click it on the Recording tab of Windows S...

Re: Mute and unmute microphone while recording?
Try not to solve the wrong problem. The five seconds is already there. That's where you breathe and clear your throat. Our job is silence it in real time. There has been no answer from the original poster, so we can only guess what they want. If the messages are only a few seconds long, they could ...

Re: Snap To for 33-1/3 LPs
Are you talking there about Audacity or ClickRepair? Quite clearly Rusty is talking about Audacity. ClickRepair doesn't have labels or do anything with them. It is very focussed tool that takes in an audio file, processes it to remove clicks&pops, then spits out a cleaned-up audio file. I don't...

I'm running the latest versions of Audacity and OS X. Please, give use all three Audacity version numbers. See the pink panel at the top of the page. Different sites may have different versions of Audacity available. We recommend you download Audacity from us at http://audacityteam.org/download/mac...

Re: Upgrading from V1.3
Thanks for the info. Do you know if I can have 1.3 and 2.1.2 on my hard drive simultaneously, just in case? 2.1.3-alpha will work likely work even if some of your sound devices do not have proper Windows 10 drivers. If 1.3 Beta works, 2.1.3-alpha will, and 2.1.2 "might". You can have diff...

Re: Snap To for 33-1/3 LPs
I'm not sure how to add successive labels from a current cursor position. I generally type 1.8 into the length box then click to the end of the hi-lighted section but that isn't very accurate. Are you talking there about Audacity or ClickRepair? Audacity's Selection Toolbar is accurate, but as Stev...

re: Disable Gain and Pan sliders
Presumably if the disable option was in the Tracks Menu, it would apply to selected tracks? That would be more flexible than using the Track Dropdown Menu if you had many tracks. I am not sure if customisations are needed to the Track Control Panel other than toggling Gain and Pan. If the Mute/Solo ...
