Re: Recording Time Extra Long
So how do i know what the correct recording speed is? Listen to the pitch of the cassette in the cassette headphones and compare with the recording. By the way there is no "2.12" version of Audacity made by us. If your Help > About Audacity... says that, rather than 2.1.2, please download...

Re: [NEWBIE] Can't merge or join clips
I have pasted the instructions for "Merging or joining clips" from the online manual for version 2.1.0 below. When I highlight the clips by clicking and dragging my mouse across two adjacent clips, there is no "Edit->Join" function -- there is, however, an Edit->Clip Boundaries-...

Re: Playback stops at end of 'cleaned' tracks
The media database is Creative MediaSource 5.01.31. So are you using a Creative Portable MP3 player? Can I take it that Audacity works better on WAV than MP3? This is not a problem, I have options to save captured music in a range of formats. If you want to record using Ion's software, save as WAV ...

Re: Change pitch without "chipmunk effect"
I am not comparing with AutoTune, but RoVee is supposed to be able to shift the formants when changing pitch, which is what's needed.
Or you can try Formant Filter to shift the formants after changing pitch in Audacity's Change Pitch.

Re: Stereo Track only records on top channel
I'm obviously new to this, I am using an m-audio box and a microphone. How does that prevent me from recording in stereo? Because you are presumably only connecting to the left input of the m-audio. Input 1 is left and input 2 is right. Following up on what Doug said, use the Audio Track Dropdown M...

Re: Playback stops at end of 'cleaned' tracks
I am new to Audacity Please tell us your version of Audacity (all three numbers, see the pink panel at the top of the page). I am in the process of digitising my LP collection. I have captured the music from my LPs using an ION USB Turntable. The files are saved in the MP3 format. The tracks are th...

Re: Windows 10 - ASIO - Works on Windows 7 not Windows 10
2.1.3-alpha (latest code) uses a later PortAudio version. It may be worth trying for that reason, but no other changes we've made since 2.1.2 are likely to be relevant. Why do you need ASIO support - for multi-channel recording or for a specific audio device? Can you post Help > Audio Device Info......

Re: Multiple simultaneous projects/edits?
I only skim read your post. You can find out the pros and cons of running multiple instances of Audacity in other posts on this Forum. Basically you can't run two different, recent Audacity executables on Windows, but you can on Linux and Mac OS X. Even there it is not regarded as completely safe, b...

Or we could consider moving to libmpg123. It is supposed to be faster than libmad, for one thing.

Re: Determine frequency of audio signal in Audacity
See the Manual. Choose appropriate settings for your file. You may want to change to Log axis which is a better representation of how we hear audio, with lower frequencies given more width.visage wrote:what settings should I select in Plot Spectrum for this?
