Re: Incomplete recovery of files after crash

I was editing a recording and then cut a very useful part of it so as to open a new project for it. But, in my bid to paste this cut part in the new project, there was a crash that required me shutting down my pc. A crash that shuts down your PC is a system problem and not an Audacity problem, beca...

Try choosing TR-08 USB as the recording device in Audacity's Device Toolbar. If you don't see the TR-08, do Transport > Rescan Audio Devices from the Audacity menus.

Re: Weird clipping anomaly - question

What are you connecting to Lexicon, and where - an XLR mic? You might simply have a loose connection somewhere.

Re: Weird clipping anomaly - question

Bill, we cannot see your computer or your recording device. What is the make and model number of your recording device? Are you saying it is a problem when you use the Zoom recorder as a USB interface? If so what exact Zoom model is it and what exactly are you recording into exactly what inputs in Z...

Re: Bizarre volume level issue with USB headset

But you haven't said if that standalone DirectShow recorder records at a higher level. If it doesn't then the problem may be something else. Or can you not record the browser audio with Nvidia ShadowPlay? Why do you have to use Audacity to record? I think most likely the problem is in the Logitech g...

Re: Mic Volume Low

n windows sound properties for my External Mic I have the boost set to 0, it can be at 10 or 20, but 0 sounds the best as it doesn't have any noticeable static, none that I can hear. Then you have your answer. Use the USB adaptor, or turn the boost up and accept the noise on the mic input which pro...

Re: Weird clipping anomaly - question

Bill, we need more information to help you. Version of Audacity and Windows, see the pink panel at the top of the page. When you record, what device exactly are you recording with (make and model number)? The most common reason this happens is that you are recording into one side only of a two chann...

Re: Audacity working internally in 32bit format

The main benefits of processing as 32-bit float (compared to processing in a lower "integer" sample format) are: * The data does not clip at 0 dB * Less noise * Less distortion * Greater dynamic range ... and another is that most modern computers are faster performing calculations in floa...

Re: no line in on laptop

I went to realtek and dowloaded an audio driver as I saw on you tube. Please don't rely on YouTube to give you sensible advice. Realtek only offer generic drivers that will not be properly matched to your hardware. Assuming you have a branded computer like Dell or Lenovo, go to their site to downlo...

Re: playback to fast

im using the latest version of audacity To make sure that is actually true, you should download Audacity from us at http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . See the pink panel at the top of the page. Some sites out there only have older Audacity versions, and a few will harm your computer if you ...
