Got any advice for me Gale? Should I give it a few more days? I still need to figure out how to get Automatic Project Recovery to stop freezing up all of Audacity. If you want to open Audacity without the recovery freezing up, then rename the "16.04.21-Substation-Dusty-Alto - 2016-04-24 11-02-...

Were there any errors recovering these projects? I suppose that if you received "orphan block file" messages for the first project (the one you cut from), the audio data for that cut "might" be in those orphan files. Help > Show Log... would show you the names of the orphan block...

By the way, there is a workaround in 2.1.2 which is to Edit > Select All, Tracks > Align Tracks > Align End to End, Edit > Select All again, then apply the effect. When you export, the leading silence resulting from the align will be disregarded.

I sometimes record up to 16 channels with audacity. Never tried more. There is no track file so I dragged the AU files and it appears that the recording has two different sets of recordings meshed into one. Very strange. Is there any way to separate that? If there is no track when opening the repaired AUTOSAVE file there should (initially) have been errors in the log...
