Re: Adding background music to my VIDEO
Hi, can I import a video into audacity in order to add and edit a background music? If it is possible, can you tell me how to do or pointing me at the right forum topic? A tutorial on how to use Audacity & the free Avidemux video-editor ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xS1zl_SMRbk I think he...

Re: No audio on recording
Is it only on the computer that the CD has no sound? And did you connect the Zoom to the computer via USB to record? If so, see Why have I lost sound after connecting a USB device on Windows?.

Re: 2.1.2 - Timed record under Server 2016 Technical Preview
And (at least on Server) I've tracked it down. The last build where the timer works properly is the one labeled; audacity-win-rdfcad8a-2.1.2-alpha-14-aug-15 From audacity-win-r9397ae2-2.1.2-alpha-15-aug-15 onward, the timer will exhibit the behaviours discussed previously, and won't stop the record...

Re: Incomplete recovery of files after crash
I don't know whether there is some moral to this story. If you had copied the audio rather than cut, then the audio should have still been present in the recovery of the first project. Perhaps if you had waited longer after the paste froze, Audacity would eventually have responded. Sorry for the pro...

Re: v2.1.3 alpha solved Win10 PortAudio error
Thanks for letting us know. It sounds like it could have been a problem with stereo mix then. It only needs one subdevice to create a problem then 2.0.4 to 2.1.2 inclusive may not see any devices at all on Windows 10.

Have you tried using fewer effects in the interface?

Re: Newbie to the Board & to Audacity - Laptop has no line i
I have 2.1.1 right now - is there a place in the User Profile for entering that data? I couldn't locate one...might just be that my ADHD kept me from being thorough... Or does that mean that I should list it in each post? Thanks. Better to tell us at the top of each new topic, if you can. We don't ...

Re: Newbie to the Board & to Audacity - Laptop has no line i
The interface you posted looks like a workable solution, but can I then connect to the headphone output of a cassette/radio/cd and get clean sound or do I have to hunt down a cassette deck. My old dual one crapped out a few years ago. Or connect any AUX or line output of the music centre to the UCA...

Re: Audacity Consuming Hard Drive Space
By default Audacity takes 20 MB of space per minute of recording, so 1.2 GB for an hour of recording. If you edit the whole track three times, you are using 4.8 GB (because of the undo/redo storage). If you leave Audacity running without doing File > Close, it will will continue to use space. Closin...
