What format are the problem files in? And are you using the latest Audacity 2.1.2 release from http://audacityteam.org/download/mac/? At least one older version of Audacity on Mac did have a problem like you describe for QuickTime formats.

Re: No Sound
Choose the USB Audio CODEC for your speakers as playback device in Audacity's Device Toolbar and enable Transport > Software Playthrough at the top of Audacity. If you don't see the USB speakers, do Transport > Rescan Audio Devices. After exporting the recording from Audacity you may also have to go...

Re: Windows 10 Audacity 2.1.2
Yes I did upgrade from prior windows version. I did a restart of computer today and it opens now, although it was quite slow in opening. I will try to actually use it later. It may be an idea when you have time to use the second link I posted to see if you can obtain new audio drivers for Windows 1...

Re: New User-Cassette to MP3
Please give us your full version number of Audacity (all three numbers, see the pink panel at the top of the page). We ask because not all sites where you can download Audacity actually have the latest version, which is currently 2.1.2. It is always safest to download Audacity from us: http://audaci...

Re: recording problem
According to the Multimix4 USB Quick Start there is no control to decide whether the recording sent to the computer also carries the playback from the computer. In the absence of such a control the Audacity playback will be sent back to Audacity and re-recorded. Do you hear only your mic in the head...

Re: No audio on recording
Did not use USB from Zoom to the computer. Just tried that and it won't record. Used the speaker output from the Zoom to the computer then recorded the program to Audacity the way I've done it many times when it used to work. It recorded fine on Audacity. But that is somewhat lossy because you are ...

Re: Integration with Ableton Live
Unfortunately Audacity can't automatically export to the directory the last imported file came from. It's a common feature request, so I can add your "vote" for that. All Audacity does now is remember the last export directory used. So if the WAV from Ableton always comes from the same dir...

Re: Audacity File Lost Or Was It
I read your text. You did not give your Audacity version, which was the main problem. "Name the file" does not tell us for sure whether you were trying to save a project or export. It should mean you were trying to save, but you could have cancelled and tried to export. Audacity 2.1.2 shou...

Re: Recording/Record Button Problem
The Duo-Capture unit is connected via an empty USB port on the computer, not a hub. I shut down the computer and also disconnected it from its power source, waited several minutes, then rebooted. The problem remains. I still have to click on the record button and create multiple new tracks before o...

Re: Recording using Audacity
You must be able to choose the USB Audio CODEC or similar name as Recording Device in Device Toolbar , not the microphone. If you do not see the USB Audio CODEC in Device Toolbar, do Transport > Rescan Audio Devices at the top of Audacity, or restart Audacity. If you connect a USB device after Audac...
