Re: Long recordings distort from 6h47m on - sounds like garg
I record long radio events and at around 6h45m47.835 the sound begins to distort - like a gargling sound, not conventional clipping distortion. But if I make two recodings of 6h each and copy them to one 12h file, the result is perfect! That would be the 32-bit limit for track storage at 88200 Hz b...

Re: No Sound for Speakers
About that other setting, the one that is now on "Stereo Mix." The drop-down menu gives me two other choices: Microsoft Sound Mapper - Input DigitalIn (Realtex Hight Definit I haven't a clue which one to select. What do you want to record? "Sound Mapper - Input" appears when you...

Re: Exporting Problem
Audacity 2.1.0 is now rather old. I suggest you use 2.1.2 from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . "Split files based on" is not a choice. The choice is labels or tracks. I suggest you save your work as an Audacity project, install 2.1.2 and try again. If the problem persists, do CT...

Re: Used to be able to record on Win10, but now cannot
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the UX2 device driver. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Audacity. I see some forum posts that may recommend using the Nightly Build version of Audacity. Is this your recommendation, or is there a better solution? Yes, use the latest Windows Nightly Build if you acce...

Re: Recording electronic drums latency
The only way you will monitor your drums in real time is in the headphones out of the drum kit. I can't see in your reply that you have connected audio out of the computer to the MIX IN jack of the drum kit. I don't see why that would not work but if it doesn't I suggest you ask on a forum such as h...

Re: recording problem
It was indeed a matter of pressing the "USB 2 track", yet at the same time de-press the "main mix" button. I had them both pushed down at first, which was the reason why I could not record. I am glad it seems to be working. Thanks for posting the solution. Others with Xenyx 502 ...

Re: New User-Cassette to MP3
Have you tried another USB cable? That is the first thing that goes wrong with cheap USB playback devices.
Do you have a standard good quality cassette deck? If so you would be better to buy a USB audio interface and connect the standard cassette deck to that.
