Re: Key bindings little problem
Here are some other strange things I've noticed in Audacity 2.1.2: 1. Switching between envelope tool and selection tool doesn't change the cursor until mouse click. That works correctly for me on Ubuntu 14.04 (Unity) in 2.1.2 release and 2.1.3-alpha, changing by Function key or mouse. What desktop...

Re: can't reopen a saved project
OK, a good point. Though that risk is already there with Save Project As... . I do think such a warning should be capable of being turned off.steve wrote:For safety I think it should. ExampleGale Andrews wrote:Does it need to prompt for dependencies?

Re: can't reopen a saved project
I don't personally think it's as important as lack of warning and data loss when users run out of disk space (which is P2 right now) I'd bet that more work gets lost because users don't understand that projects have multiple parts than due to running out of disk space. That is possible, but most of...

Re: can't reopen a saved project
This begs a question Gale: should we have a Feature Request for a Rename Project in the File menu? Would that be: rename the current project, or rename a saved project that isn't currently loaded? If the former, then how is it different from "Save As"? If the latter, then (to do it safely...

Re: Win 8.1: Crashing on OGG export Pt 2
I don't know if it makes a difference, but I have a filename convention that starts with "snd_bgm" for each song. And I don't want to overwrite anything. So just as an experiment, what happens if you don't type "snd_bgm" for each song, so presumably each file name is unique? If ...

Re: finding beats per minute
Beat Finder is not that accurate (and to be fair, automatic beat detection is not easy to do). You can count how many beats there are in a given duration and work out Beats Per Minute (BPM) from that. For example, if you counted 24 beats in 15 seconds, multiply 24 by 4 = 96 BPM. Otherwise I suggest ...
Re: 44100hz
I suggest you make sure you have Audacity 2.1.2 from us at http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . Please see the pink panel at the top of the page to find out what Audacity version you have now. In 2.1.2 supplied by us, project rate at bottom left determines the sample rate of the exported file....

Re: Audacity shutting down if I try to use effects
The only think I felt I had left to do was to restart the computer, thus losing a lot of data. Fortunately, I had exported a copy of a raw form of the project, so I did no those everything or have to start from square one. Backup exports are good. ;) However Audacity should have offered to recover ...

Re: Audacity shutting down if I try to use effects
I also do not have an Audacity file that I can find, so bringing in VST effect downloads has also been an issue. You say that problem may be solved now, but for reference here is how to install VST effects: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/effect_menu.html#VST_effects . Are you sure you installed...
