Re: Question about Audacity on Debian 8

Re: Very loud buzzing/squeaking sound
I can only hear the buzzing (in speakers) at lower than reasonable volume. Otherwise the hissing noise overpowers the buzz. One final question - my video recording is in stereo and after testing it seems that when i record my voice in mono, its little bit better and the buzzing is less of a problem....

Re: Newbie needs help ripping vinyl
Ok, so I have a very limited understanding of audio and I'm sorry that I'm having trouble following. My takeaway from your replies and reading the xiph.org article is that it doesn't make sense to listen to music at bit depths higher than 16 or sampling rates higher than 44/48. However, if I plan o...

Re: Sound finder in multiple files
You will have to type or copy and paste the name of each file into the label. Click in the label, type the name then press ENTER on your computer keyboard to confirm the label. Or click in the audio track's name (at the top, where the downward-pointing black triangle is), then click "Name...&qu...

Re: Audiofire 12 - Most channels missing
Audacity as shipped does not support ASIO. But even if you had compiled Audacity yourself with ASIO support, Audacity always mixes down more than two tracks to stereo for playback.
How you configure the Audiofire isn't going to change that.

Re: Sound finder in multiple files
Do you mean you have multiple Audacity tracks stacked on top of each other? Sound Finder itself does not provide a list. If you export a label file at File > Export Labels..., you will see a list of all labels with their start and end time then their name. If you select the first audio track, run So...

Re: Very loud buzzing/squeaking sound
It's a mono microphone , but the noise not the same on each channel : [...]Set Audacity to record in mono not stereo I assume the mic port is one of these "compatible" stereo inputs. Setting Audacity to record in mono might help. Setting the mic to mono on that "Specifics" tab w...

Re: can't reopen a saved project
The disagreement only seems to be about resaving to the same name. We agree that Save Project As "might" ask again if user is renaming an already saved project. Some users save the current project every few minutes as you know. If nothing else, we really should not be nagging them about de...
