Re: Sound finder in multiple files
A more general feature for new labels or label track name to take project name or track name would be valuable too, sometime. We can't currently set or modify track names with Nyquist plug-ins, though I have it in mind to add that as a new feature in the future. Using the track name in labels is ea...

Re: Can't install new plugins
This is 2.1.2 from https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuhandbook1/+archive/ubuntu/audacity ? And the version of Ubuntu? And the plugins you want are...? I have the TAP LADSPA plugins enabled in Audacity on Ubuntu 14.04, installed using Synaptic. The so;0 entries in Audacity's Plug-in Manager are not an issu...

Re: Consider a project of only unmodified tracks to be "clea
but "completely safe" exceptions would not help use cases where Audacity is just used as a player or viewer. I don't follow. if Audacity is "just used as a player or viewer", then you "open" ("import") a file, view and/or play it, then close. That is "co...

Re: Consider a project of only unmodified tracks to be "clea
Of course we could "publicise" disabling "Save changes?" merely by mentioning it when people complain. Personally, I can never see what is so hard or time-consuming to just dismiss that warning If you are doing it dozens of times a day it does get very time consuming. And actual...

Re: Sound finder in multiple files
There's a version of SoundFinder that numbers the labels: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=104194#p104194 Does that help? That looks to be functionally the same as the shipped Sound Finder which already numbers labels. That shipped numbering does not help because there is only one &quo...

Re: Sound finder in multiple files
I have thousands of files! I can't change each label manually. Is there any other way? Not in Audacity. I would have said if there was. ;) There could be a feature when adding a label that the label and/or the label track name takes the project name or the name of the audio track being processed. Y...

Re: Consider a project of only unmodified tracks to be "clea
We could instead just list the hidden settings somewhere in our documentation (Manual or Wiki) but then users could make a bad manual edit to audacity.cfg and get themselves in trouble that way. But easy to reset with a deletion of the audacity.cfg So are you in favour of this change, and in favour...

Re: Can't install new plugins
Please, see the pink panel at the top of the page and tell us what version of Audacity you are using (all three numbers). Tell us exactly what version of Ubuntu you have. What is the exact name of these plugins? If they are common plugins you can install them using Synaptic or "Ubuntu Software ...

Re: Combining Marker labels into Region labels
For Export Multiple you only need labels in the silence or near-silence at the end of each section. If you wanted region labels you could have made those at one go using Sound Finder . From where you are now, you could Tracks > Add New > Label Track then drag new labels in the new label track. The y...
