Re: Loss of leveller effect in 2.1.3
the "problem" I note sometimes when i need to use Audacity is that if there is a spike because someone unplugs something, the Normalise does not work very well. In two of the other editors I use, the normalise seems to cope with this much better. I find running it through the leveller helps with th...

Re: DLLL HIJACKING Audacity 2.1.2
When launching Audacity by executing the AUP file on the internet or local network and Audacity fails to load the DLLs in the project folder, the current working directory is C:\Windows\System32\.

Re: Win7 x64 Audacity 2.1.3 Side by Side Conflict Errors
try recompiling Audacity 2.1.3 with the 2.1.2 manifest embedded. I understand that most users would not want to do that. There is another method that less sophisticated users could employ which is to use a resources editor like Resource Hacker to change the manifest embedded in 2.1.3 to that for 2....

Re: How to copy tracks?
I'm recording a choir using a karaoke track. I use the karaoke as the base track and want to record multiple "takes" as additional tracks. Problem is that each generation of recording is worse than the previous. Is it possible to copy ONLY an additional track, without copying the base track and all...

Re: Batch Normalisation
You won't. But you are using the wrong tool, because you will degrade the MP3 files when you re-encode them in Audacity. mp3DirectCut will normalize the files for you without re-encoding.daba wrote:I've got the idea - chains

Re: Exporting multiple tracks
Thanks for the answers. Maybe I'm just using the wrong program to mostly change bitrate, but this is the best among the ones I've tried. Assuming you are re-encoding MP3 files you can use Audacity's Chains feature to re-encode the files at a different bit rate without changing the existing metadata...

Re: Audacity 2.1.3 metadata & mouse wheel
We had many requests to support horizontal scrolling without Shift and we won't be removing that support. Would it be possible to enable it (scrolling with or without Shift) as an option in the “Preferences” like the keyboard short cuts, in a further version of Audacity? I very much doubt the devel...

2.1.2 won't stop the computer crashing. That is almost certainly a separate problem which you can explore by looking at the dump in WhoCrashed.TechnoStyle wrote:Alright. I will remove 2.1.3 and install 2.1.2 for quick solution.

Re: Strange sound
You should understand the simple "converter", if cheap, will be just that - cheap junk. Many of these are supplied with USB cables that don't work in the first place or fail after a few uses. It is not an Audacity issue. You could also try rebooting the Mac. If your Mac has a stereo Line In, you cou...
