Re: Consider a project of only unmodified tracks to be "clea
Opening an audio file should be distinct from implicitly creating a Project contrasting that file. Audacity does not "open" audio files. It imports them into projects. Everyone here including Steve has been saying that for years. That "everyone else" definitely includes me And t...

Re: Audacity 2.1.3-alpha-May 24 2016
I was really satisfied with the previous stable version, but nevertheless just upgraded. I'm running Audacity on the newest Ubuntu-Studio release (via QjackCtl). Sadly, since the upgrade I can't save any more projects, because Audacity crashes when trying. When I start it via shell, the output is t...

Re: can't reopen a saved project
I don't know why we have to discuss this now, unless a single file project format (I do not say "unitary") is on the agenda for 2.1.3. The argument about space-saving on disk is a bit specious as it is more than somewhat foolish to be working with a disk that is so low on spare space that ...

Re: can't import from itunes
Thank you.
Another thing you can't do in 2.1.2 but could do in 2.1.1 is drag any audio files directly into Audacity. We have fixed that particular problem for the next release of Audacity.

Re: Audacity won't open .aup files (Audacity 2.0.3)
Here is the link http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/recovering_crashes_manually.html . I followed the path it gives me and it takes me to Appdata > Local however it then wants me to go on the Audacity folder in that file, there is no Audacity folder, only in Roaming. And there are a few auto saves ...

Re: Can't install new plugins
Please see my previous replies. I have already verified that Audacity sees those 32-bit plugins on Ubuntu 14.04 32-bit. Perhaps you need to download the GVST plugins again in case you obtained the 64-bit plugins in error. Or perhaps you could try deleting pluginregistry.cfg then only enabling GSnap ...

I'm certain to be reminded of it regularly by strongly worded messages to [email protected]steve wrote:I've got a suggestion. Let's not kick this into the long grass.

Re: Consider a project of only unmodified tracks to be "clea
that will still not help those who import the file and amplify it or normalize it to see it better So what are you suggesting? I don't believe that you are seriously suggesting that we should allow novice users to process their imported tracks, then close the project without being prompted to save,...
