Re: Consider a project of only unmodified tracks to be "clea
a) it will not prevent all the complaints (even if we remove Change Pitch 0% from the Undo Stack) It will help users more than a preference that they don't know exists. Publicise the option to edit audacity.cfg, or include the option "somewhat hidden" in Preferences. The people who want t...

Re: Audacity opening up in every time I open a single file
I haven't been editing the files at all, and will not need to (as far as I am aware). All I need to do is look at them and (ideally) change the prefix of the file name so files can be instantly recognisable by the species of bat within that recording. Do you need to see the waveform to judge the ba...

Re: Consider a project of only unmodified tracks to be "clea
My vote is for the simple and relatively safe option: Have one message for projects that have unmodified imports only, and allow the user to select "don't show again", and the existing warning for everything else. As previously explained, the problems with that are: a) it will not prevent...

Re: Can I increase the volume of a wav file?
OK, thanks. I'll give it a try. Thankfully the compressor download page also has installation instructions. You have an old version of Audacity, so there is no Effect > Manage... (or Effect > Add / Remove Plug-ins) as in recent Audacity versions. In your case, restart Audacity after placing the &qu...

Re: AUP File Won't Open, Nothing Has Been Moved
This problem can happen if you shut down the computer before Audacity has finished saving the project, because the AUP file is saved last. There is no sensible way to recover it from the data you have, because the naming of the files bears no relation to their order in the project. If it was an uned...

Re: Problem with piano sound
As for the voice recording, It works fine. But did you record the keyboard through AUDIO KONTROL using Voice Recorder? Or can you try some other application than Audacity to record the keyboard? If that records OK, we can make some other suggestions of settings changes you could try. I tried the US...

Re: Retrieve file after crash is silence
Quicktime doesn't know what an Audacity snippet is. You have to open in Audacity. Every time I try to "open" an AU file snippet Audacity simply crashes. Audacity 2.0.4 is very old now. The current Audacity version is 2.1.2 from http://audacityteam.org/download/mac . When Audacity crashed,...

You have said that before. Can you explain what you mean in more detail?kozikowski wrote:Don't pick the first few AUs. Those are pictures.

Re: Recording Chopped
Computers waste tons of time, for example, waiting for you to press a key. In battery systems, it pays well to shut down the processor between keystrokes. This doesn't work for sound management. I need to look up how to register applications so they don't do that. If you mean App Nap , Koz, right-c...

Re: Problem with piano sound
I decided to uninstall the whole thing and install the full version that's in that site (AUDIO KONTROL 1 Full Installer 1.2.5 - Windows) which comes with the latest drivers. But the date of that is claimed as "10.05.2010" - years before Windows 10 was released. What I don't understand is ...
