Re: A couple of recording questions
just downloaded the newest version of Audacity. Sorry but we would like to know all three Audacity version numbers - please see the pink panel at the top of the page. This is because some sites do not offer the most recent Audacity version. Our site http://audacityteam.org/download/ always has the ...

Re: Audacity 2.1.2.0 running so slow
I have not used a memory checker, and I'm not sure if I know what that is. Have a link? Type "mdsched.exe" (without quotes) from the Start Menu or Start Screen for the Windows memory tester. Read More: https://www.raymond.cc/blog/test-your-ram-with-microsoft-windows-memory-diagnostic/ . T...

Re: Record created a new set of 8 tracks!
Every time I press record 8 new tracks appear at the bottom of the previous 8 and Audacity records on the new 8 instead of the original 8. How can I stop these tracks from adding themselves? Re: Adding sections to my interview
Thanks Steve. Snag is it adds the new audio on to the original track and I'd like it on a separate track, initially anyway, so I can amplify the sound. You can click and drag to select only the new recording you appended to the track, then amplify just that. Can I have one new audio track running u...

Re: how to finish downloading Audacity
To Steve: You were so kind as to help me with a problem with using Audacity for transferring music from audio cassettes to compact discs several weeks ago. I looked for our correspondence and could not find it. If you can locate our exchange, I would so appreciate your send your replies to my g-mai...

What about the two "Exclusive Mode" checkboxes underneath "Default Format"? Are they enabled or disabled and does changing the checkbox state Both Enabled. does changing the checkbox state and restarting Audacity make any difference? Sometimes. I often try with restarts, particu...

Re: screen goes dark and computer unresponsive
Time Machine doesn't back up the default Audacity temporary directory (/private/var/folders). That's another reason why I want the Audacity temporary directory changed.kozikowski wrote:You keep religious Time Machine backups, right?

Re: screen goes dark and computer unresponsive
El Capitan is very concerned about saving power. I would check the power settings so there is no risk the computer will try to sleep or turn off the screen during a recording. Also, right-click or CTRL-click Audacity.app, and choose "Get Info". Then put a check (tick) in "Prevent App ...
