The file should be OK. It just has the wrong file extension and you can rename it to .WAV. It's a known bug and they are working on it. It has already been fixed when exporting using "Other uncompressed files". So that fix will be in the next 2.1.3 version of Audacity when released. Gale

Updating the Presonus drivers for Windows 10 didn't solve the issue but your Split Stereo seems to be a good temporary fix. I'm wondering if Presonus is even aware of the issue. You can, in a way, on Mac OS X. The CD tracks are mounted as AIFF files in Finder, then you can drag the AIFF files into Audacity.

Solved! The lady who donated it went to control panel and disabled the PC's microphone and now Audacity gets the signal from the right source.
