USB is not infallible, especially with extreme numbers of channels. Are you using USB 2.0 or only 1.1? The distorted section of your bad sample has a few dropouts as well. Sorry, the slider does not work with the FFmpeg version that we recommend, as described in the 2.1.2 Release Notes. There are workarounds mentioned in that link.

Sensitivity is no longer in dB. It is a positive scale from 0 (off) to 24 (maximum).
