Re: Record created a new set of 8 tracks!
I do not open new tracks every time. If I did, I would say I did. What is happening makes no sense to you? It makes no sense to me. Pressing record automatically adds tracks every time you press record! We know that. What in plain English do you want to do? Do you want to record over the start of a...

Re: Male-to-Female Voice Change
You're probably expecting too much. We can't help without absolute specifics such as the amount of pitch change or equalization change you want. You could try the Male > Female voice change effect in this standalone freeware Windows program: http://www.expstudio.com/audio-editor-free.html . Gale

Re: Can't Install Audacity 2.12 on Mac OSX 10.6
Although I managed to install it, it won't work. I can't open audio or import audio. I can't drag audio into the project window either. Obviously, there's some issue or conflict with this version and my Operating System. In 2.1.2 you can drag most file types to the Audacity icon in the Dock. Or use...

Thanks, richwheeler.
So if you right-click over audacity.exe, Properties, then look at the Compatibility tab, is Audacity now set for compatibility for Windows 7?
Almost no-one has ever found that helps any problems on Windows 10, but thanks for letting us know.

Re: Using TASCAM 16-08 interface with Audacity
Moved to the Windows board. This isn't feedback and reviews. Ok, I got input 1 (xlr/mic) tracking from the tascam to audacity but cant get channel 9 (1/4' instr) to work. I see signal on channel 9 in the tascam mixer but cant seem to record it in audacity. Are you using the latest V1.04 drivers from...

Re: Allen & Heath QU32 board issues
Just ran through another church service using the stereo outs: everything was good. Switched to USB 18 channel: tried changing everything: quality, sampling rate, recording Hz: all bad Did you increase "Audio to buffer" in Audacity's Recording Preferences as suggested? Exactly what record...

Re: Audacity won't work with Windows 10.
On what audio device are the sounds playing that you want to record? And what recording device were you choosing in Audacity to record sounds before? If the sounds are playing other than on the built-in sound device, for example on a USB headset, then the only simple way to record that is using the ...

Re: 2 stereo tracks to 1 stereo track
I don't know that I would have done it that way. Split the two stereo tracks. Delete the two you don't want. Make stereo track from what's left. No? Yes, definitely less clutter that way, but if the user wants to do something with the original tracks or messes up and can't find Undo, it's better. G...

Re: Record created a new set of 8 tracks!
From what you have written, record your first track into the empty project, Stop, then if necessary press Skip to Start |<< to move the cursor to the start of the project, then click Record. Omit the step to open a new, empty track before recording, if that is what you are doing. This will record in...
