Re: 5.1 an 7.1 surround playback issues

Audacity playback is currently limited to mixing down tracks to mono or stereo (two channels). See http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_playback.html#multi-channel . You should be able to configure your sound card to duplicate left and right to other channels, such as sending normal stereo bass to...

Re: a clock

Indeed, I am trying to make a podcast of music and voice introductions and need a clock to give me a start and finish time so that I can see that I have recorded a 60 min slot. There is a Timeline above the blue waves. It does not carry times of day. As I already said, there is Timer Record. Set it...

Re: Recording devices tab - gettign it to work

It now records but I'm hearing a kind of echo - like that Lou Gehrig speech where he says he's the luckiest man alive. Would you please share any thoughts about how I might address the "echo" effect? Please give us the make and model number of the mic and tell us how it connects to the co...

Re: Audacity not fully exporting audio file

There are lots of places in the code where Audacity fails silently (no user warning) on file operations. A few years back I provided Gale with a patch which fixed a few of these (returning FALSE instead of TRUE when a file operation failed within a function) and added warnings for all of them. Woul...

Re: Audacity not fully exporting audio file

cyrano wrote:In the case of this error, wouldn't it be nice to offer the possibility to export as bwav or RF64?
Audacity already supports RF64, but yes that could be mentioned in the error message, along with suggesting FLAC.

Re: Audacity has disabled microphone permanently

Did this laptop come with Windows 10 or did you install Windows 10 on top of previous Windows? If you installed over previous Windows you need the correct manufacturer's audio drivers. Please see http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Windows_10_OS#drivers . With incorrect drivers devices may fail in use...

Re: Audacity does not see JACK Audio Connection Kit

You posted in the Windows board and registered as on Windows 10. If you are asking about Audacity support for JACK for Windows, that is only experimentally supported and you would have to compile Audacity to enable it. If you are actually on Linux, please state exactly what version of Linux and wher...
