Re: Audacity 2.1.3 , VS2015 , wxWidgets 3.1.0. = it works
Does anybody knows which libraries are needed from VS 2015? Microsoft has two separate redist files for VS2015: vc_redist.x64.exe and vc_redist.x86.exe. If that is to help, you want the x86 for a 32-bit computer. You did set the VS2015 Platform Toolset for XP, I suppose? Audacity does not officiall...
Re: How do I get rid of distortion at high volume?
Give us 10 seconds of raw recording without effects then another file with the same 10 seconds where you distorted it by making it louder.
See How to post an audio sample.
This is one track, right? Multiple tracks combine, so all must be made less loud.

Re: Missing Audio Data Block Files
You can search your computer for the missing files noted at Help > Show Log... . The orphan files won't help that project, but they could belong to another project.
I really would not save projects to Dropbox. It may be trying to be "helpful" by resyncing to the cloud.

Re: Audacity stops recording at specific point
Connect the USB cable tightly at both ends and shut down the computer. You cannot record from USB devices indefinitely without rebooting.

Re: Not recording
Koz: The microphone is connected to a PreSonus AUDIOBOX USB. The 48V light is on. The AUDIOBOX is connected to the computer. Then choose the USB CODEC for Audiobox as your Audacity recording device. If you don't see it, do Transport > Rescan Audio Devices at the top of the Audacity menus. Are you s...

Re: Boring bump to start recording
Again, while the only Audacity recording choices are "Microsoft Sound Mapper" and "Conexant Mic (built-in microphone)", Piero isn't even recording from the external mic the cable is connected to. We are still arguing that is beside the point because even if the inbound signal int...

Re: losing envelope changes
Please let us know if that export renders all your intended envelope points. Do you need me to do this in order to help your debugging efforts? If not, I'd rather just wait until the bug is fixed, then continue on with my original plan of work. - Bill F. If the envelope points are not rendered corr...

Re: Can you get real time echo in Audacity?
I assume that if my headphones are my speakers, the echo wouldn't appear on the track? The echo should not appear on the track if you wear headphones and ensure you select the mic you are using as the recording device in Device Toolbar. You may find something better for computers than Radiodelay if...

Re: Can you get real time echo in Audacity?
I am using Audacity to learn to speak German. First I listen to a sentence, then I say the sentence out loud, and listen. But is there a way to turn on "real time echo" so I can hear what I've said 3-4 seconds later? Even if Audacity did support a real-time echo effect, the echo would end...

Re: 24-Bit Recording Status
For others who have real 24-bit recording devices, please test this commit under Windows DirectSound and let us know if you get real 24-bit samples: https://github.com/audacity/audacity/commit/18eb2bb.
