Re: Can't convert to 16 Bit PCM wav
In other words, when you import a file, Audacity defaults to expanding it to 32-bit float and that is what you are shown to left of the blue waves - the bit depth of the audio in the track, not the bit depth of the original file. 2.1.0 is old now. You can get the current 2.1.2 release here: http://w...

Re: Help Converting .AUP to .WAV
It always helps to tell us which version of Audacity you are using. Please see the pink panel at the top of the page. If you are using 2.1.2 there is a bug listed in the 2.1.2 Release Notes When exporting or rendering a longer mix and one or more tracks are much shorter than the others, the progress...

Re: waveform export on win 8.1
We don't know what version of Audacity joaquingch is using.
I don't believe 2.1.3-alpha or recent Audacity has this problem. I tried 2.1.3-alpha.
Where is the Forum topic where you talked about this happening?

Re: Installation Breaks Internet Connect
The manuals that come with USB record players can be incorrect, especially if they refer to an older version of Audacity.
The best advice is here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/reco ... ables.html .

Re: Needed help with recording with Audacity
Please tell us what version of Audacity you are using (all three numbers, see the pink panel at the top of the page). What is the make and model number of the mic? Have you turned off Windows recording enhancements ? These can be a source of volume fluctuation. Are you recording one track over playb...

Re: Error while opening sound device??
I started a new topic for you. It gets too confusing otherwise because relevant details may differ between the user in that other topic and you. You did not tell us what version of Audacity you have and where you got it from. Please see the pink panel at the top of the page. I recommend the current ...

Re: Hard limit not working v 2.1.2
Just to add that restarting Audacity will only get rid of the Hard Limiter menu entry if you have at least opened Effect > Add / Remove Plug-Ins... . So do that, ESC or Cancel to dismiss the Plug-In Manager dialogue, then restart.

Re: waveform export on win 8.1
None of them have the balance to either side That's not what I said. If you touched any of them, Audacity will force a stereo show in the background and not tell you, even if you put the controls back to the middle. That is not correct, Koz. It would be a bug if it was so, would it not? To make sur...
Re: Waveform
In my opinion, if you have time, you should make comparisons and trust your own ears for which software is best. For anything other than slight noise I would tend to prefer Goldwave because the "sweet area" (where there is a good compromise between noise reduction and not harming the sound...
