Re: Problems with "Analyze"

If you are running Audacity from the DMG this will cause Nyquist effects to be missing. See http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 47&t=75660.

Re: Effects and Analyze will not Enable

If it's a real-time preview effect like Phaser or an Audio Unit, you can open the effect and manage its presets and options, but obviously you cannot use it without audio present.

Re: Audacity won't export full file

3 hours at 48khz/24-bit will put you at about 3GB, which exceeds the "official" 2GB WAV limit, but it's under the 4GB "unofficial" limit and it would probably work. 4 GB is the "official" limit. Applications that don't support more than 2 GB are "unofficial"....

Re: install of FFmpeg [SOLVED]

Just for your information, we always need the complete log to debug FFmpeg issues, as you gave first time for 2.1.0.

Yes as last resort, putting all the FFmpeg files in the folder Audacity is running from can solve an FFmpeg detection problem.

Re: Audacity won't record

Look at the complete Audio Device Info to see the sample rates that Audacity thinks Sound Blaster supports. Press OK in Audio Device Info then you can save the complete information to a file and attach the file here. Please see here for how to attach files: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.ph...

Re: Installing new version

I am curious about the zip option. Wouldn't you still need to run an exe from inside the zipped version? Or is it portable? You asked about installation. For that, download and run the installer, not the ZIP. If you use the ZIP, after extracting all the files from the ZIP, just double-click on &quo...

Re: Trouble Recording from Cassette Recording Device

Thanks for the good detail. You can get a much more recent version of Audacity 2.1.2 from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows . In 2.0.3 or 2.1.2, connect the USB device before launching Audacity. Then choose that device in Audacity's Device Toolbar . It sounds as if you are choosing Stereo...

Re: RECORDING

Again, in 2.0.5, you have to use Edit > Preferences..., choose the "Effects" section on the left, enable the box "Rescan VST effects...", OK, and restart Audacity. When you restart, you will see a dialog and a checkbox for each new effect. Make sure the checkboxes are enabled, th...

Re: Slow scroll

Version of Audacity often matters, just like on any other software forum. Please say *how* you are scrolling. It's best not to use abbreviations. Actually on Windows 10 x64 and 6 GB RAM, Audacity 2.1.3-alpha with eight tracks each an hour long, I can drag the vertical or horizontal sliders along ver...

You did not attach anything - please see here for how to attach files: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=64936 . There are other de-essers, like LISP http://bedroomproducersblog.com/2013/05/01/sleepy-time-dsp-lisp/ and Paul Licameli's De-Esser http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewt...
