Re: Update Display prompt incorrect.
I'm not sure that's any clearer. What's "pinned?" Koz It's clearer if you were using 2.1.3-alpha. That has a new button for Pinned/Unpinned Recording/Play head. When "Pinned", the recording or play head is centred, and the waveform moves continuously during transport, instead of...

Re: Central location to save plugins from Audacity updates
It's also the correct way if you are done with testing Nightly Builds. Audacity doesn't let you specify random folders to search for plugins. That would be a feature request.DickN wrote:Copying them all to the latest version du jure would just be doing it the old way.

Re: automation plugins for audio
Audacity is a post production program. Sorry for the stupid question, but then what possibilities does Audacity offer? I've been wondering this some time ago; of course I use it and everything, but I'd like to have a clearer vission about the things we can (and not) do with it. You could read the F...

Re: No sound at all when opening Audacity
this device is definitely interfering, but I have no clue what Wondershare is and I don't think I've ever chosen to download such a thing... What can I do? When you install any application you should look at the options carefully. It is common that a default installation may install other unwanted ...

Re: voice to text converter
I've just tried "Speech Pad" for Chrome. It's free, it requires installing a plug-in for Chrome web browser, and it works a lot better than I expected. See: https://speechpad.pw/ That seems a good find, Steve. Chrome no longer supports XP as of version 50, so shinnen will need to find an ...

Re: voice to text converter
Audacity does not do voice to text. You may be able to use Dragon as a free trial for a one-off conversion. You could try Windows XP - Install speech recognition . You might find an old application called "Wave to Text". This used to work quite well. Use the search feature in your web brow...

Re: No sound at all when opening Audacity
Are you using Audacity 2.1.2 from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows ? Do your headset and built-in audio device have drivers meant for Windows 10? Have you looked in Windows Sound at what are the default playback devices before and after launching Audacity? Most browsers can't choose thei...

Re: Ordering of files when exporting to WAV and burning to C
Any way getting on with it, I then went to File/Export Multiple with the intention of sending them all to individual WAV or MP3 files. I have plumped first for WAV. I filled in all of the metadata for each track and then away it went. I placed them all in a folder of their own. So now if I want to ...
