Re: Audacity stops recording at specific point
(in Private Message) Gale, So if I reboot the computer it should start working again? That sounds odd. It's not odd at all, or we would not suggest it. I tried your suggestion multiple times, but the problem persists. At some random point in the recording, the process freezes. Record button is stil...

Re: Compiling Version 2.1.2 For Windows 10 64-Bit w/ASIO Err
I recommend following this document https://github.com/audacity/audacity/bl ... ompile.txt .
Git clone will give you 2.1.3-alpha, not 2.1.2. You can get the 2.1.2 code here https://github.com/audacity/audacity/releases.

Re: Extract .zip files = install not! Why?
I have Audacity 2.1.0 installed at C:\Program Files (x86)\Audacity (Windows 10) and would like to update to 2.1.2. I downloaded audacity-win-2.1.2.zip and want to direct it to overwrite 2.1.0. The instructions are to Extract the files, but if I direct them to C:\Program Files (x86)\Audacity, I get ...

Re: PLAYBACK IS NOT SUPPORTING TO LISTEN IN AUDIO INTERFACE
You did not say what version of Audacity you have (see the pink panel at the top of the page). I suggest you install or reinstall Audacity 2.1.2 from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows . When you install, enable the box "Reset Preferences" half way through installation. Don't run...

It is not acceptable to shout in ALL UPPER CASE. It is also makes your text hard to read.
I changed your text to sentence case for you.

Re: Computer crashes if headset is unplugged
This is a brand new computer which came with Windows 10 preinstalled Thanks for clarifying. I know you said "brand new" in your first post, but I also saw your profile said "Windows 7" (which I changed to Windows 10). I checked the driver. It said it is the latest, and it is by ...

Re: Audacity won't open because of Debbuging report
If you press Cancel on that Debug window, there will be no saved files.
If you press OK on that Debug window, Audacity will show a dialog that tells you where it is saving the ZIP file to. It will be somewhere in /var/folders/.
Then all you have to do is attach the ZIP file.

Re: Can I select 'no backup'?
In some cases Audacity will reference the original WAV file for its data rather than first making a copy of the data. In other words, that is a setting. Set the Import / Export Preferences to "Make a copy...". Then there will be no renaming of the original file to "old" before w...

Re: Computer crashes if headset is unplugged
If you updated to Windows 10 over Windows 7 on the same machine, it is essential you do what Steve suggests, even if they are USB headphones. Audio drivers can interact with each other, so all the drivers need to be correct. Look on the web site of your computer manufacturer for the latest Windows 1...
