Re: Central location to save plugins from Audacity updates

I've had effects try to initialize with a different effect's parameters when using 2.1.3. I also find that if I use a later rev's copy of High-Pass Filter when running 2.1.0, the Frequency parameter entry field is missing. Do you absolutely need to have access to all copies of the Audacity plugins ...

Re: Seperate Track Export for Labels

The hard part about this feature request is "keeping all of the people happy all of the time". Label tracks have been a feature of Audacity for a very long time, and the format has been stable for many years. There could be a lot of Audacity users that rely on the current format, so altho...

Re: No sound at all when opening Audacity

what do you mean by resetting Windows 10? Do you mean to factory settings? Wouldn't that delete everything I have? When you reset you get the choice to save your personal files, personalization settings and "Modern" apps installed from the Windows Store, or not. See: https://support.micro...

Re: Audacity startup slows down dramatically after 2nd openi

I recall someone else on the Forum found Audacity was very slow to launch first time, then very quick on subsequent launches. I never see so pronounced an effect as that, but I have old-fashioned spinning disks. It is expected that application prefetching will mean that subsequent launches of an app...

BUMP - ok so what do we do with this one ... ? If Steve had not opposed it, I would have committed https://github.com/audacity/audacity/pull/135 because it is an immediate solution that IMO is much better than waiting for possibly years to thrash out some other solution which is going to be tolerab...

Re: Audacity not fully exporting audio file

BUMP - what is the underlying feature request Do something more helpful than dumbly exporting WAV files > 4GB. This seems like more of a bugzilla "enhancement" issue rather than a "feature request". I agree. I think an enhancement issue is justified given we get this at least tw...

Re: transferring ADAT tapes to Windows via USB port

See https://www.google.co.uk/search?&q=adat+usb+interface . But you probably won't be able to record eight channels at once into Audacity as shipped, unless the device supports EWDM drivers (or WDM-KS, for which you will need Audacity 2.0.4). More information at http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki...

Re: Overwriting a project

Can I make Audacity overwrite a project with the same name? No, this is not currently possible, as it says in the 2.1.2 Release Notes . To backup, do File > Save Project As... and use the same project name with the date and time appended (or version 1, version 2, backup or whatever helps you identi...

Re: How to recover project from data document

If you mean you only have the _data folder, it would be best if you could find the AUP file or AUTOSAVE file. What happened? If it's an unedited recording and you have the _data folder, you can try http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/recovering_crashes_manually.html . If it was an edited project, it'...
