Re: transferring ADAT tapes to Windows via USB port
Thank you for your advice and input! It's the Alesis LX20 digital 8-track. If possible, I'd probably want to go straight to Audacity, unless there's some other good, cheap software that would make this go smoothly. If you don't have the LX20 manual to hand, I found it at http://pdf.textfiles.com/ma...

Re: Slim down the Click Track interface
perhaps even call it "metronome" I was hoping to save that name for a "real-time" metronome. Would that be under the Generate menu, though? It sounds like a modeless Tool to me. I would be a bit worried about users of the existing Click Track opening the new Click Track, finding...

Re: Comments in saving a file
I exported it as a wav file. I don't know how to now find the comments I typed about the file. Is there anyway without using media player or itunes? You can read about metadata support for different file types here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_opening_and_saving_files.html#meta . You mig...

Re: Slim down the Click Track interface
Generate > Click Track is slimmed down to a few more controls than a physical swinging weight metronome. Speed, [X] Leading beat emphasis...and I guess that's about it. Is volume one of the current adjustments? Generate > Rhythm Track is the collection of drum and percussion sounds, controls and ma...

Re: Zedi 10 mixer only showing 2 channels
You are unlikely to get four channels of simultaneous input unless you compile Audacity with ASIO support. See https://github.com/audacity/audacity/blob/master/win/compile.txt . It is possible if you choose the Windows WASAPI host in Device Toolbar (or obtain Audacity 2.0.4 from http://www.oldfoss.c...

Re: Audacity Fork For Rivendell
1) Can I use the Logo/Icons - and/or would I need to change the Icons/Logos that display. For example - in About Dialog I would leave the information there but add information on our version numbers etc.....Maybe remove the Audacity Logo? Are you going to have your own logo or just text? Suppose yo...

Re: Editing During Playback
I use Audacity to the daily work on the radio. One of the most annoying things is the blockage of editing during the playback. The ideal program which allowed that was Cool Edit 2.0. We are likely to make that more intuitive in the next release or the release after that, but it means signifcant cha...

Re: Comments in saving a file
That information is "metadata" embedded in the file. According to the file format you are exporting, you may be able to see that information in a media player like Windows Media Player or iTunes.

Re: Slim down the Click Track interface
How do we resolve the difference between this and this I told you some people would want even more features. ;) Either ship the bicycle and the aeroplane separately, or put the bicycle in the aeroplane. And use a plugin format that supports access keys, so blind users can navigate where they want. ...

Re: Audacity won't open because of Debbuging report
I believe this is the ZIP file pertaining to the debug report. You had set the recording meter refresh rate to 0, which will cause the recurring crashes in 2.1.2. This has now been fixed in our source code so won't be a problem hitherto. Use the same Go to Folder item as before and type: ~/Library/...
