Re: Audacity startup slows down dramatically after 2nd openi
I just tried that, disabling all effects. (SC4 and Stereo to Mono turn on upon restart though.). Stereo to Mono remains disabled after restart in 2.1.3-alpha, so I think that is already fixed. I noticed that the time listed in the log (10:49:53) is, according to my Windows clock, the same time Auda...

Re: Audacity startup slows down dramatically after 2nd openi
The solution to that problem was disabling the Audio Units plugins, but Audacity doesn't have the option to disable those anymore. Audio Units plug-ins are specific to Mac OS X, so that option is not available on Windows or Linux. As I said, it should not be anything to do with plugins of any type,...

Re: Slim down the Click Track interface
Would that be under the Generate menu, though? It sounds like a modeless Tool to me. Wherever it is, it would be confusing to have two "metronomes". Also, strictly speaking, it's not a " metronome ", it's a " click track generator". You called your demo "Metronome...

Re: Buzzing when playing games
Apparently for Windows 10, capturing screen video is available free by using "XBox App" There's lots of articles about it on the Internet, such as this one: "Use the Xbox app to record your screen in Windows 10" but none of them seem to say anything about audio capture. I don't ...

They aren't available now, as in the case of the custom beep duration and sound.waxcylinder wrote:I think all options should be available to be shown
Are we going to accept that such a thing could be a visible Advanced option?

Re: Consider a project of only unmodified tracks to be "clea
It seems that everyone wants a solution that allows a user to turn the nag dialog off given an Exit with a "somewhat" dirty Project. As I have just pointed out, most users who have requested this don't want that complication. My choice is to add to Preferences/Warnings an Advanced sub-pan...

Re: Consider a project of only unmodified tracks to be "clea
(or explores "Advanced" options, if we put it in such a place in the Interface) "Advanced options" are in my view a very different proposition from hidden settings in the audacity.cfg file, just as making it a compile time switch would be a very different proposition. I've alrea...

Re: Comments in saving a file
Yes, I found the option. Thanks. I guess this is the only way to read the comments. It's the only way to read the comments metadata without looking in a media player or tags editor. If you right-click the exported file, choose "Properties" then click "Details", some metadata fie...

Re: Central location to save plugins from Audacity updates
If no, the answer is to create a "Portable Settings" folder in the folder for each version of Audacity... I searched the manual for "portable settings" and didn't find it. Steve told you where to find it, but we badly need a search box in the online Audacity Manual. Meantime, yo...
