Re: Two Sides Recorded Simultaneously
We can only do so much to help remotely. Sometimes, it is simply better to pay for a computer technician to read the documentation we have provided you with then come to show you how operate Audacity. Alternatively if it's a popular album you will probably be able to buy the CD. Well, everything see...

Re: More Recording help
it says to go: FILE>EXPORT, but all of the export options are grayed-out... Click the "Stop" button first. Most operations are unavailable during Play, Record and Pause. This issue was fixed in 2.1.3 See the Release Notes for 2.1.3: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Release_Notes_2.1.3#Changes_sinc...

Re: exporting selected audio greyed out
If you accidentally click in the grey background underneath the track, this deselects the track and would grey out Export Selected Audio even though there is still a time range. Pressing ENTER on your keyboard should reselect the track with its time range.

Re: Strange sound
The recording I am trying to save, is a rather plain rock song, written, performed and recorded together with some friends in the middle of the 80s. I am playing it from the very same cassette tape that we transferred it to back then. True, the sound quality on the cassette is not exactly brilliant...

Re: Unable to access/adjust Bass Treble,No Stereo,Too Distor
I actually do have a magnetic cartridge and I have been advised to do away with the Presonus Audiobox altogether, in favor of a Scarlett 2-I-2 (that's the letter I not 1) USB. Who advised that? Focusrite? If you feed distorted input to a Scarlett it will have the same problem as the Audiobox. there...

Re: How do I create a DDP file with audacity?
To clarify. Audacity does not export DDP files. Only Audacity can read AUP files.
You can export WAV files for each CD track which any audio editor will accept.
Or find a CD manufacturer that does not require DDP.

Re: Amplify/Normalize chain predicament
Chains processes one file at a time and closes the project after each processing. This is why it preserves metadata. So no effect will do what you want in a Chain as we currently envisage the feature. The real "problem" is arguably that normal import only stores metadata for the last imported file, ...

Re: Audacity "not responding"
When I originally tried to exit a window, which was unsaved but I was done with, the "not responding" came immediately upon clicking the x. Was it a very long project (several hours)? There would be no harm in upgrading to 2.1.3 from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows . If it was question...

Re: New install - can't get Audacity to record
The hard drive failed on the computer that we had Audacity installed on, so this is a re-install on the new drive of a computer on which Audacity had previously been running and properly recording. [...] the recordings themselves are coming from the sound system output into the mic input of the com...
