Re: Sound
the different tool bars keep coming free from the main face of the program and floating free. I change the toolbar settings so they reattach, but then as soon as I click on something it floats free again. Why is it doing this? Make sure you are using Audacity from us http://www.audacityteam.org/dow...

Re: Distortion when recording
Apparently this hardware http://www.octavainc.com/HDMI%20distrib ... 0port.html gives you a way to pull an optical audio signal out of the HDMI source. You could then record that audio signal if you had a digital sound card with S/PDIF input.

Error Importing Audio from Video Files [SOLVED]
I don't see a problem with that file, though obviously I don't know what audio it is supposed to contain. There are two stereo streams of 1 minute 52 seconds. You choose which stream to open, one or both, when you import the file into Audacity. The first stream only has a click at 16 seconds. The se...

Re: Fit Selection & EQ bugs (in case ya didnt know)
Sorry, "previewing" is just in reference to playing. As in simply playing a "fit selection" on Audacity. OK, thanks for confirming. That's already fixed in our 2.1.3-alpha source code. In 2.1.2, CTRL + [ is a good way to bring the selection back into view. That will centre the l...

Re: Distortion when recording
The audacity I use is 2.1.0 Should it be better to use 2.1.2 (latest version)? Or does the latest version have no chances concerning my problem? It is always good to have the latest Audacity version from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows but the problem is inappropriate hardware, not Aud...

Re: Distortion when recording
Isn't there a solution instead of using the microphone-line input to use a HDMI-cable. The HDMI port on your computer is most-likely an output-only. Yes, so to clarify you would have to be able to see an HDMI device on the "Recording" tab of Windows Sound. Some computers do have HDMI inpu...

Re: Distortion when recording
I will look at home for the correct version of Audacity. You can tell us if you need to ask for more help. The main reason we ask is because not all sites offer the latest Audacity version. SourceForge is an example of such a site. Isn't there a solution instead of using the microphone-line input t...
