Re: Could not Save Project. Perhaps Disk is Full

I started a new topic for you. It is too hard to deal with multiple people in the same topic on different systems and using different versions of Audacity. Try Installation: Do NOT run Audacity from the DMG!!!! . Then try changing the project save directory to your own Music folder. It should not be...

Re: Help Installing QM Plugin to 2.1.2

As previously explained, the 1.7.1 Queen Mary plugins crash Audacity, but the older 1.7 plugins do not. If the environment variable points to the new plugins, then Audacity will crash. Online videos are often wrong. There should be no need to look at anything other than http://manual.audacityteam.or...

Re: Converting .webm to mp3 audio file

SUPER can convert (or extract the audio from) most audio/video formats. As you say, the SUPER installer has now become bundleware that makes it very hard not to install unwanted applications. We're not going to recommend it any longer. Audacity can import audio from WEBM videos if you install FFmpe...

Re: Overloading Input Meters

I am concerned that the Audacity Input Slider needs to be set to minimum in order to avoid overloading the recording. However, if you listen back to the recording (using good headphones plugged into the headset output of the iMac, or good, amplified external speakers) and it sounds clean (not disto...

Re: Overloading Input Meters

Is there anywhere you can toggle the external input between microphone and line-in? Perhaps in Sound in the System Preferences? Gale Macs of that era had a "Microphone" input that was in reality a line-level input. The only microphone that worked with that input was Apple's microphone wit...

Re: Can't properly export audio from vinyl record.

Make sure you don't have a selection, or use File > Export Audio not Export Selected Audio. If that does not help, please use View > Fit in Window and View > Fit Vertically then take a screenshot of your project and attach it (COMMAND + SHIFT + 4, then SPACE, then click the Audacity window). Please ...

Re: punch in or auto record

Thank you so much, I got it now. So did new Zoom R8 drivers fix the speed problems? I made a nice track and fixed some small mistakes by recording another track and then copy and paste into 1st track. I was wondering is there a way to punch in or auto record to fix small errors in a performance? ch...

Re: Bat file to search local Audacity Manual

I do keep Java UTD. I wouldn't be too concerned about running a 2010 Java app on any Java much newer than the app, however, especially an open-source one ;) . Not really the point, Dick. The point is that having Java installed creates an attack vector if an attacker can find a way to get a maliciou...
