Re: Saving settings to apply to new files?
The usual problem isn't getting the settings to stick. It's getting back to Factory Settings after you've had your way with them. There is no clicky for that. You have to know the on-line instruction book features the Default Factory Settings. http://manual.audacityteam.org/ ...and transfer them ma...

Re: Timer Record Not Working
It's an old bug that came back in Audacity 2.1.2, but it does not happen on most machines. It is documented at http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42 . Has this specific machine recorded without this problem before? If you turn any screen savers off and leave focus on Audacity does it c...

I have ffmeg installed to run Audacity ... Can you pls share the steps in Audacity to convert a downloaded webm file to MP3 audio? If Audacity is capable of reading a video file, just drag & drop a copy of it into Audacity. [ drop in the large dark-grey area where the waveform appears ] And to ...

Re: Overloading Input Meters
recommendations for a laptop that will 'just work' with Audacity giving me 24bit conversions Windows laptops (except high end) do not come with separate line-level inputs, just a mic input that might or might not be "compatible" (detect and adjust for line level stereo). So in that case y...

Re: Problem while Recording a Vinyl Record
How exactly are you connecting the turntable to the M-Audio? Is there a phono amplifier between the turntable and the M-Audio?
Is this the card you have http://www.m-audio.com/products/view/audiophile-2496?

Re: HOW TO RECORD A MAGIC JACK PHONE CALL USING THE PHONE
In reading the above comments on this page, I find that they do not really explain how to record BOTH the caller’s voice AND the voice on the other end, when MagicJack is used with Audacity: Thanks for your post. What inputs does Magic Jack have? RJ-11 phone input and anything else? Can you actuall...

Re: Can't properly export audio from vinyl record.
Why are you using 384000 Hz sample rate? Exporting a file at that rate could be defeating whatever application you are playing the songs in, as could using 32-bit. And it will make a huge file. AIFF and WAV are maximum 4 GB size as per their specification, but some applications can't play AIFF or WA...

Re: Overloading Input Meters
Anybody else notice the posted track seems to be mono? Almost perfectly matching sound meters and identical blue waves? Yes I pointed that out http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=312143#p312143 . Is the result completely mono when you choose the "Sound Input" instead of "Ex...
