Re: Problems with keyboard
It's a notebook. Does that mean there are no NUMPAD keys? It works normal in any application, just in Audacity even if not. What language is Audacity running in? Please look at Edit > Preferences..., Interface section. What language is Ubuntu Studio running in? Already reseted the keyboard We need ...

Re: Can I restore a previous save point?
4 Import a file with the same name, mysong.wav. 5 Make some change, or not. 6 File > Save Project, or File > Save Project As..., mysong.aup is offered again in the same folder, choose that name. 7 Save. Yes that will overwrite the project in 2.1.3-alpha (our current code). I would call it a bug Yes...

Re: real time equalization?
Brand new user, just wasted an hour- trying to adjust equalization for listening to live band and other recording. Can't figure out how to get a program installed to do this. Need detailed instructions, the ones on the FAQ do not work. Should you ever want to use a real-time equalization effect plu...

Re: Problems with keyboard
Are you talking about NUMPAD_DELETE and NUMPAD_Page Down? Those are not the same keys as DELETE and Page Down. What happens if you open a text file in gedit or your favourite text application, select some text and press standard DELETE (not NUMPAD_DELETE). Is the selection removed? If the selection ...

Re: Can I restore a previous save point?
The project was already closed. when I exported it into audacity to do the percussion track I forgot to give it a different name, so that when I saved it, again without changing the name, it overwrote the previous version. I immediately cancelled but to no avail. the only previous version I have ha...

Re: Problems with keyboard
Do you mean those keys do not work in Audacity for their default purpose (the keys do nothing)? Have you set those keys to do something else in Ubuntu Studio? What version of Ubuntu Studio do you have? What version of Audacity do you have and where did you obtain it from? See the pink panel at the t...

Re: RMS measurement for large files
Is that a Mac Mini? Yes it's a new Mac Mini. If you'd like to test your Mac, try this snippet on a 4 hour mono track (Use the "Activity Monitor" to watch the RAM usage). (print (peak *track* ny:all)) Does Audacity crash? No. On El Capitan I was able to process somewhat less than four hour...

Re: Mouse & Keyboard behaviour changed?
We do actually have an enhancement issue open for your core issue of using a shortcut to play while the mouse is down http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1331 . To consider all the implications of Widgets default-locking-out shortcuts with mouse down, of which you give other examples, w...

Re: Can I restore a previous save point?
Audacity can't overwrite projects If you open a project, do something to it, then "File > Save", the original version of the project is "over-written" (updated) Yes, File > Save Project... won't let you choose another file name if you already have a project open, but vainjangles...

Re: Windows 10 Sound Device Properties and Audacity Sample R
It depends on the Audio Host you choose in Device Toolbar too. If you choose MME or Windows DirectSound host, you will only record 16-bit samples irrespective of choosing a higher quality in Audacity. If you choose Windows WASAPI host then you can record 24-bit samples with Audacity given you have a...
