Re: total loss of sound data
Replying to Private Message from Edward 1 I tried your solutions.... Under preferences for directories it showed C:\Users\Edward_2\AppData\Local\Audacity\SessionData. A similar file under check dependencies said no such file existed and did I want to create one? No, it did not ask if you wanted to ...

Re: Stereo Track to Mono Not Working
What I do is record my own end of the convo in Audacity Is your recording mono or stereo? then import the Pamela stereo recording. I sync up the two tracks containing my own voice, break the Pamela stereo recording into two How exactly do you break the Pamela stereo recording into two? and throw ou...

Re: Very slow export after adding music
I've recorded some audio and have added a very small sample of music to the beginning as an intro. I imported the entire music track into audacity (dragged the mp3 in) and then cut it down to be around ~10 seconds. I have reduced its volume and added a fade, which fades out and then the "main&...

Re: SETTINGS FOR AUDIO CASSETTE RECORDING
Here is the link again that explains how to attach an audio sample to your post: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=72887 . The attaching is simple ("Upload attachment" below where you write your replies). The trick is in giving us a WAV file that is short enough to att...

Re: Audacity suddenly won't open
Audacity is not responsible for packages in the Ubuntu repositories, only for our source code. Ask KXStudio to be sure you have fully uninstalled their products. The problem started when you used their products, after all. Try turning off all other audio applications before launching Audacity. See t...

Re: SETTINGS FOR AUDIO CASSETTE RECORDING
The external mic input is often too strong for tape deck output. If you recorded flat-topped waveforms, you recorded at too high a level. If so, turn the recording level down in Audacity. In Windows Sound , check that there is no boost being applied to the external microphone and turn all recording ...

Re: Waveform reaches max?
Soundflower is the best there is that is free. There used to be a better free alternative. If you have a Windows Vista or later licence, use Windows instead. On Windows, Audacity can use Microsoft's built-in system for recording computer playback. OS X as shipped does not allow what you are trying t...

Re: total loss of sound data
If you have never saved this as an Audacity project and the contents become a flat line, then something may have deleted the files in the Audacity temporary directory, or the temporary directory cannot be read or written to any longer. So look at Audacity's Directories Preferences to see where that ...

Re: SETTINGS FOR AUDIO CASSETTE RECORDING
Thank you for the excellent information given. Simple answer, don't waste your time recording into the external microphone port of the computer. It's the wrong type of input, unless perhaps these are speech tapes and you don't care about quality or whether you get mono or stereo recording. Best bet:...

Re: How to turn a normal speaking into a song?
Please try using more words. Speech is not music, unless perhaps you are rapping. Is that what what you are trying to do?
