Re: After a restart, .aup files do not open *Manual Recovery

Yes those three AUP files are all empty, so sadly the projects are unrecoverable unless you have backups or WAV files you exported before you saved the AUP's (or unless any are unedited recordings). I added a FAQ to the upcoming 2.1.3 Manual for this. Don't shut down the computer until the projects ...

Re: Audacity not opening cleanly in OSX 10.11.1 Beta-with a

I also downloaded Audacity 2.1.2.0 and could not open it. I first tried deleting the offending line in ~/Library/Application Support/audacity/audacity.cfg, and then tried deleting the .cfg file altogether. Audacity still wouldn't open. Error dialog was "The application “Audacity” can’t be open...

Re: Problems with the new Noise Reduction replacing Noise Re

Yeah..I have the same problem as well. Audacity was perfect, but I lost my computer so I bought an exact copy and redid the settings with the exception of the new audacity, and its AWFUL. When I do noise reduction it "damages" my audio and keeps the background noise the same. Really poor ...

Re: Crash on Automatic Crash Recovery when choose Do Not Rec

Every time I open Audacity, I get the Automatic Crash Recovery message. When I choose Do Not Recover, Audacity crashes. Therefore I have to choose Recover Projects and then click OK on 2 Error messages before I can continue using Audacity. If you don't want to recover that project, recover it, then...

Re: Crash on Automatic Crash Recovery when choose Do Not Rec

2.0.2 was written long before Apple even thought of El Capitan or Sierra. You should update to Audacity 2.1.2 from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/.

Re: Speed change error

The speed change percent is inverse because increasing length reduces speed and vice versa.

The speed change percent is what Audacity acts on, whichever measure you change in the effect.

Re: Help! Error Importing .aup file

What version of Audacity? Please give us all three numbers from Help > About Audacity... . If you are using File > Open... but see "Error Importing" then the AUP file is damaged and is probably empty. The AUP file can end up empty if you shut down the computer before Audacity can finish sa...

Re: no more audio through the usb to thx

Where is the backing track? Is THX10 a guitar amplifier? How is THX10 connected to the computer?

To play a backing track in Audacity while recording, click Transport > Overdub in the Audacity menus.

Re: Plugged instruments to PC problems

My PC have stereo line-in connection. If that is the only input, it's the wrong input - not as good as a Line-In (blue) meant for strong signals and separate from the mic input. The guitar may sound better than the keyboard if you only have the one input. The only exception to this would be if your...

Re: Lame Encoding Problems

LAME and FFmpeg (which you installed first time) are different libraries.

LAME is only for encoding MP3.

FFmpeg can import (decode) and export (encode) many other formats, like WMA, AC3 and AAC. You can use FFmpeg to export MP3 too, but not by selecting LAME in Libraries Preferences.
