Re: Consecutive tracks

If the album you bought was an MP3 album, the MP3's will play with silence padding due to a limitation in the MP3 format, unless your player supports MP3 gapless playback to compensate for this. Yes you can join the files and export as one MP3 in Audacity. Then you will only have an added silence at...

Re: Click Noise When Press Playback

You can easily determine if the clicking is just something that was in an old recording by making a new recording. Or using an old recording, turn the -....+ gain slider leftwards on the Track Control Panel to make the volume quieter. Do you still hear the click? If the same selection clicks when pl...

Re: Creating dynamic library plugins for Audacity (compiled)

Wait. All DLL plugins are using an obsolete and further not supported nor updated DLL core? What are you talking about there? I am saying the one DLL plugin we ship (SC4) is old. The author does not develop it further. I'm creating plugin, not looking for some plugin to work with. You probably misu...

Re: software to convert to MP3

Yes use one of your computers that is online, or go to an internet café or public library and download LAME according to http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/installing_and_updating_audacity_on_windows.html#winlame . It doesn't matter which version of Windows you download on. It's easiest to get the L...

Re: convert mp3 format voice recordings to notes

This is the Audacity Forum (about Audacity). I have no personal interest in your quest. For questions about Sibelius software, please ask them.

Re: Click Noise When Press Playback

People who disable onboard sound in BIOS often create problems for themselves. I would never do that. Did you physically damage the onboard audio ports for example by overloading them? Yes USB recording devices are usually called "microphones" in Windows. Is UFO 202 your Audacity playback device? If...

Re: Ubuntu 16.04 - missing libavcodec.so.54?

Have you upgraded to the packaged version of Audacity in the 16.04 repository? Note that Audacity Team is not responsible for such packages - they are the responsibility of Canonical. If you updated to Ubuntu 16.04 over previous Ubuntu, this is deprecated by Canonical and likely to create issues. Sa...

Re: Creating dynamic library plugins for Audacity (compiled)

Wrong place to ask. This is the Audacity Forum. We only ship one shared library plugin (SC4 - LADSPA) and we don't debug it. It is old and has not been updated in years. We don't ship VST's at all. Have you tried searching the internet? When you have done that, then if you still need help, you can t...

Re: convert mp3 format voice recordings to notes

Voice recording/input to printed notes output? I am a singer songwriter and am searching around on the web and a website pointed me to Audacity. That website contained the following information concerning getting a vocal file (non midi) into printed score: "I do know that audacity has the capabilit...

Re: Reel to reel speeds.

It is much better to play the tape at its design speed, not faster. If you must play faster then you will need to set a much higher project rate in Audacity to avoid loss of high frequencies. See http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/higher_speed_transfers.html . Use your favourite calculator to work o...
