You said that a couple of times and I hope that is a typo for 2.1.2. If it isn't a typo, you have a fake version of Audacity.

Re: Audacity from external drive....

Audacity 2.1.1 That is how I specified the external drive; Audacity > Preferences..., Directories section. It still eats space on my local drive. Obviously if you are saving Audacity projects to the hard drive or exporting to the hard drive, that will take space on the hard drive. Otherwise Audacit...

Re: Plugged instruments to PC problems

as I said, my notebook have one input for microphone and other for headphone. A headphone is an output (sound comes out of it), not an input (where sound goes into it). So you don't have a proper stereo Line-In input meant only for strong signals, such as from a keyboard. It won't sound as good as ...

Re: Audacity from external drive....

What version number of Audacity are you using? Please see the pink panel at the top of the page. In modern versions of Audacity you can change the Audacity temporary directory at Audacity > Preferences..., Directories section. If it's a USB external drive you should not use that for recordings. It m...

By the time, I updated all system and sound issues from HP support web (that's the name of my PC) and uninstall and install Audacity last version with all it's lame and ffmpeg issues. So now I have all components updated in my Windows 10 PC version. I also change the parameters of the internal soun...

I did move files around from desktop to folders and then from folders to desktop Audacity projects are not a single file and so are susceptible to users moving parts of them around. if you want to move, rename or backup a project, always use File > Save Project As... from inside Audacity. Gale

From memory and FWIW: This seems to happen to people who upgraded from Mavericks to EC. The reason seems to be that either the "lsd" folder in /private/var/db/ is missing, or you may have a corrupted Launch Services database. Thanks, cyrano. So you think this might be a problem if you upg...

Re: error message recording device settings and sample rate

If you previously installed the CEntrance "Universal Driver" then you have to follow these special instructions to uninstall the old driver and install the new Windows 10 driver: http://centrance.com/downloads/ud/ud-instructions.shtml . However I don't think you have to install those drive...

Re: doing pods from

We can't see your computer, so you will either have to use more words to describe your exact connections, or choose the correct device you want to record from in Audacity's Device Toolbar . Be aware that Audacity can only record from one device at a time. Also get the equipment connected first, then...

Re: Can't save in this location

I am trying to save some music as Mp3 so that I can listen to it on an MP3 player. I am using Windows 10. I have installed audacity 2.1.2 as well as ffmpeg, LADSPA and LAME. I an running Audacity as administrator. I have confirmed that the lame_enc.dll file is linked. But still, when I try to exper...
