Re: Click on timeline plays selection if time unit is second
If the time unit is set to "seconds" and snap is set to "Nearest" or "Prior", clicking on the timeline anywhere except very close to a whole second plays the selection (or from the select cursor) instead of from the mouse cursor location on the timeline. I did get it t...

Um, Audacity does do that - do you have an old version? See Real-time preview of effects. It is true you can't apply effects while recording.LeeJames wrote:There's no real-time processing so you can't adjust the EQ of a track while playing it (something I consider essential for making music).

Re: Audacity Just Stops Recording...?
So Audacity has been doing this to me for quite a long time and I always just figured it was outdated and would update to the latest version. Problem solved. Or so I thought. Recently, Audacity seems to just interrupt all my recordings after a certain amount of time. I record gameplay that covers t...

Re: Audacity Just Stops Recording...?
You can always use Audacity in post production processing. It's FRAPS for gameplay and Pamela for Skype. Both of those applications "know" about the other audio application and work well together. A note that Win10 occasionally throws Pamela for a loop, but for the most part, it's OK. Onc...

I added an installer for 2.0.6 and a note about "Application configuration incorrect" to http://www.audacityteam.org/download/legacy-windows/.

Re: Something has changed.....
If you are recording at 96000 Hz you could try changing that to 44100 H or 48000 Hz bottom left of Audacity. You are only making low quality recordings (by the sound of it) so you will not benefit from high sample rates. If you are using the computer's internal microphone or microphone connected to ...

Re: Audio output
Are you using El Capitan or Yosemite? Your profile says Yosemite.
If you enabled the wireless speakers while Audacity was running, restart Audacity or use Transport > Rescan Audio Devices in the Audacity menu bar.
If you are using Airplay, see this post.

Re: OS X 10.11.6 Open .aifc files with audacity
I am told that the aifc file is from an unrecognzed developer. I think it's more likely Audacity is from an Unrecognized Developer. AIFC is a compressed version of AIFF which is a native Mac file format. There's a trick to this I don't remember. The best way is to do without opening the file first ...
