Re: Any way to do a batch job to normalize many tracks?
There are no batch tools in 1.2. There might be in 1.3, and it's a really good bet in 1.4 which isn't quite out yet. I think the current release candidate is 1.3.5b-III or something like that. Koz 1.3.5 Beta is now officially out: http://audacityteam.org/download/ and batch processing has been arou...

launching Audacity on non-admin accounts on Network Home
In 1.3.3 (but not 1.3.2) there were frequent reports that users could not launch Audacity on non-admin accounts on Network Home: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Mac_Bugs#Network_Home_Weirdness or on managed accounts: http://www.nabble.com/Audacity-1.3.3-Mac-and-managed-accounts-t3884919...

Re: Blind user asks for help with tracks' editing
Huge thanks to Steve and others for spending so much time on this one. Steve asked me to comment on "Cycle through Dock, track view, and Selection Toolbar". This should be CTRL + F6 (CTRL + SHIFT + F6 in the opposite direction). Steve, where have you seen references to CTRL + F7? I believe...

Re: quoting audacity in an academic paper
Anything like the sample reference you quote will be fine. Quoting "Audacity Team" as author is more correct than "Dominic Mazzoni" but the whole Team are authors of the program and its documentation (unless otherwise specified).

Re: quoting audacity in an academic paper
Hi jjatria There is nothing especially formalised in what we require of people referring to Audacity in publications, and really boils down to you mentioning Audacity by name with a link to our website: http://audacityteam.org/ Almost anything online (including online documentation) is covered by th...

Re: recording SKIPS a bit every 6 seconds
Re deliberately crashing Audacity, it's safe for an advanced user that's prepared (if recovery fails) to manually recover all the .au files from the temp.file and batch rename them to be in strict alphanumeric order within creation date. I gather though that when the timer progress dialogue stays af...

Re: PLEASE, SOMEONE CAN TAKE A SESSION IN PORTUGUESE???
Hi Tomas For a Brazilian Portuguese Forum to be successful, it needs someone with a command of that language and sufficient knowledge of Audacity to make a daily commitment to answering the questions. If you think you could be that person (or you know someone else who could), please reply to this th...

Re: deleting old files
If you have saved a project (File > Save Project), then each .aup project file and its corresponding _data folder don't have a set location, but go to the destination folder you chose when saving. You can find the last folder you saved to by just generating a tone or importing a file, and seeing the...

Re: Distortion pops up after recording awhile
Of the fixes apart from not using USB, changing the USB cable normally has the best chance of success, along with ensuring the cartridge is properly connected. If you are using a USB turntable as we guess, take a look at: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=USB_turntables Jack, we don't kno...

Re: Forum log in/connectivity problems
It's a factor for UK users (BBC estimate a 5% impact on UK web traffic?) and the shift to on-demand video must be a factor in the US too. We're planning to upgrade to the latest phpBB 3.0.1 software soon. Koz seems to have the most problems - I wonder if he finds them confined to audacityteam.org si...
