Re: 1.2.5 not starting on Leopard, complains on wrong arch
I think I figured this out. I had formatted my internal HD as case-sensitive, when I installed Leopard. Turns out, there are a small number of apps that wont run if they are stored on a case-sensitive file system. I think Illustrator may be one. The workaround for these, is to install them on a cas...

Re: mixer toolbar
Thanks for that, Gale. I've got the toolbar back by trying everything in 'Preferences' but still very little sound. I've tested the mic and it's OK. You are turning the input level up in the Audacity mixer toolbar? And checked the Windows Control Panel for an advanced button when the mic is selecte...

Re: Using multiple mics
If you want multiple mics into multiple channels (simultaneously) you will need a fancy multi-track USB or Firewire mixing desk. (Most reviews put firewire ahead of USB, but you will no doubt want to do your own research) Does recording more than two channels ever work with Audacity 1.2 on Windows,...

Re: Using multiple mics
Using multiple wired microphones connected into a mixer will work with Audacity. Using multiple USB mics will not work with Audacity, because operating systems always treat them as separate recording devices and Audacity (and most recording software) will only record from one device at a time. This ...

Re: Added VST Bridge. Wont run.
There are three distortion effects in the SWH LADSPA suite ported to Windows: http://audacityteam.org/beta/ladspa/ladspa-0.4.15.exe In other words, you don't need the VST Enabler to run those because they are LADSPA plug-ins. What Steve is driving at is that the Enabler looks in several system folde...

Re: Clicktrack.ny measures length problem audacity 1.3.5
I've had some intermittent problems with the generate effects (including clicktrack) in Audacity 1.3.5 on Windows XP. I've not found a reliable way of reproducing the problems, hence not reported as bugs, but typically it will be that on clicking "OK" a track will briefly appear, then imm...

Re: File too big for Audacity?
I'm running Audacity 1.3.4-beta on Windows XP Then please help us by posting to the Windows Beta Forum :=) with lots of disk space and RAM. I have a 40-minute stereo file of a speech. All it needs is to have some low-frequency noise below 80Hz reduced. Using the high-pass filter, it always crashes ...

Re: Clicktrack.ny measures length problem audacity 1.3.5
Effect > Repeat would be a less tiresome workround :=) I can't reproduce on Windows, but can you compile from CVS HEAD which will give you a 1.3.6a1 version number, and see if it helps? Is there a problem with any of the other Nyquist generators?
Thanks
Gale

Re: Fedora 9 - Sulpher, ALSA: Audacity causes kernel bug.
I'll report it to the team, but I don't think we know of this, and 1.3.4 is now superseded. If you compile Audacity from source do you still get the problem? If not, then a new Fedora build might help.

Re: mixer toolbar
The key point is that you can also set the mic as recording device in the Windows Sounds and Audio Devices Control Panel applet. See: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Mixer_Toolbar_Issues Also note that bad/outdated sound drivers can cause these kind of interface problems with audio soft...
