Re: New Audacity Functionality: Real-time editing
Thanks, Koz. Daniel, I think the approach many take with Audacity as it is now, is not to stop the recording. Carry on recording after your mistake and use CTRL + M to drop a label or CTRL + B to draw a selection at the point concerned. Then you have your mistakes marked, and as appropriate either r...

Re: Can't get new Mac Beta from SourceForge
I tried to download from audacityteam.org/files/audacity-macosx-1.3.5b.dmg, but server returns “Page Not Found”, this link doesn’t work. That's because 1.3.5b has been superseded by 1.3.5d (includes a fix for greyed out menus after using or previewing effects). It is correctly listed (and working) ...

Re: "theft" of audio output by Audacity on Mac
if 32-bit float is the recommended setting for Audacity to record, but it isn't available as a setting on Mac, does one just proceed, or can one only choose a sample rate that one can match on the Mac systems input? From the discussion of the 24-bit example, I would take it to mean that you don't n...

Re: "theft" of audio output by Audacity on Mac
Do you change the Mac Input settings or not, regardless of the Audacity recording settings chosen? And what would those recommended Audacity settings be? And must you manually reset Mac output when you have finished each session? Bear in mind I'm not on Mac, but I don't believe what you did in 1.3....

Re: Blind user asks for help with tracks' editing
Ok, thanks a lot. It's something I think it should be implemented in stable versions as well. But it is only my opinion. It does not really work like that. As the stable version gets older, more work and more new features are concentrated in the Beta because that is the proving ground for the next ...

Re: Intel Macbook frozen recording
Just two advise, two problems have come to light with 1.2 on Mac (Intel and PPC we think) 1) If selecting language other than English, any string that does not have a translation will appear blank instead of in English. MAY be fixable. 2) When typing in save or export dialogues, the corresponding sh...

Re: Blind user asks for help with tracks' editing
do you know if it's possible to listen a preview of the sound when you select something before cutting it, i.e. listening to the sound as if it has been cut but before cutting it really? It's called Cut Preview (available in Beta only), shortcut is "C". Audio I/O Preferences lets you choo...

Re: Using multiple mics
I can record up to 8 channels at once using Windows XP Home, Pentium 4 @ 3.2GHz, 1GiB RAM, running both Audacity 1.2.6 and 1.3.4 (I haven't moved to .5 yet).My sound card is an M-Audio Delta 1010LT.... With the drivers I currently have, I can select each stereo pair of inputs (1+2, 3+4, etc) indivi...

Re: Volume very low when recording over microphone
We can't say much can we without details of the microphone? Microphones are definitely a case where you get what you pay for... Have you looked in the mic instructions as to how it is to be connected to the computer? If it doesn't have any, that tells its own story.

Re: "theft" of audio output by Audacity on Mac
Hi Leland Not being on Mac, I've never *completely* understood the problem in 1.2.5/6. I believe if you asked Audacity to record say 16 bit 48000 Hz, and observed Audio MIDI Setup, you'd see it change to 48000 Hz and then other apps may not have sound. But given the Audacity default is 32 bit 44100 ...
