Re: Installation internal error, failed on _shfoldr.dll
Thanks. The version of the Inno installer used for 1.3.5 is more recent, so that may be the difference. I gather we do update the installer version with every release of Audacity. If you find you prefer 1.2.6 for any reason, there is still the zip distribution. Note the Beta is not fully documented,...

Re: Installation internal error, failed on _shfoldr.dll
shfoldr.dll is a Windows system file to do with the Shell Folder service, copies of which are created in temporary folders when programs are installed. This dll is sometimes detected as a virus by anti-virus products, but it is safe. I think the problem may be something to do with the Inno installer...

Re: Clicktrack runs to fast!
It still "sounds" to me that what we are talking about is a Nyquist (the type of plug-in it is) length generation problem. If you try Steve's experiment using the parameters he gave, the track will be shorter than 2 minutes, I think? If it's what I think it is, the crux of the problem is i...

Re: Clicktrack runs to fast!
So
* the click track generates correctly according to looking at the timeline (both overall length and number/position of clicks) but then appears to play fast?
* and playing back other audio in Audacity plays at the correct speed (if it's a three minute song it actually lasts three minutes?

Re: Unable to install - Vista 64bit Premium Home
Sorry, I only browse from time to time, and it seems no-one had an answer. When you say "compatibility issue" what precisely is the exact text of the error you get repeatedly and at what stage of the installation process does it occur? There is no separate 64 bit version of Audacity but we...

Re: Problems editing wav files
My bet is you are capturing damaged sound files and because Audacity will try its best to deal with the damage--usually by hiding it--the damage doesn't show up until much later. Koz Koz, I think I would take issue with the above - in what sense do you mean? If the recordings are passed to Audacity...

Re: Clicktrack runs to fast!
Since the last update of what? Audacity, your operating system or your sound device? Are you perhaps recording from one sound device and playing back with another? This could give desyncing due to different clock speeds, aside from the consideration that one might need driver updates or be faulty. I...

Re: 100% cpu usage
George13: I'll ask our Google Summer of Code student developing "On Demand" for his opinion. If you go Audacity > Preferences > Import / Export and select "Make a copy of uncompressed audio...", does it make any difference? You didn't get that note from me, did you? I was posting...

Re: 100% cpu usage
I am getting 100% cpu usage after using 'generate noise'. Is this a bug? (With 'generate silence' or 'generate chirp' it goes back to 1-2% cpu usage.) (Audacity 1.3.6a2, Mac OS X 10.4.11) You're using an alpha (development) version of Audacity that is now about a month old. ODManager is the process...

Re: Application error crashes in Vista
I saw the Benchmark function and it said that I can only play 23 or 24 simultaneous tracks at one time. Is this the problem that even though it's only playing one or two tracks with audio that all of the tracks in the project are considered to be "concurrent samples"? If so, then I think ...
