Re: Normalize Destructive Behavior ??
re Snap To: I am aware if you do "Edit > Select > All" it only selects rightwards on the timeline up to the last whole second, nonetheless this means that if you have one track of half a second and another of 2.5 seconds, Edit > Select > All will select all of the half-second track. But I ...

Re: mp3 - poor quality, since upgrading to 1.3
MP3s exported from 1.2 are Constant Bit Rate (CBR) and I think the quality algorithm specified is only -q5 (on a scale going up to 0). I don't "think" that -q setting changed with 1.3 but the main advantage 1.3 should have is that it supports variable bit rate. This means that when the mat...

Re: Disable VST plugins
I am wondering if there is a good way of disabling VST plugins showing up in the Effect menu. I am learning Nyquist programming, but I have a lot of VST-plugins installed which make the menu very long and are very annoying. The information page says that VST Enabler is required for activation, but ...

Re: Normalize Destructive Behavior ??
Re Snap-to, you could select all of the track(s) which are shorter than one second by dragging the selection region so that it covers a whole second. It's a bit of a fringe case because select all would work if any of the other tracks were longer than a second, and snap-to is off by default. Would n...

Re: Show Clipping: Set # of consecutive samples
I understand that 'Find Clipping' is configurable, but I'd still like to see 'Show Clipping' made configurable, since it updates in real time. I've added this suggestion to the Clipping section of our user-editable Feature Requests page: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Feature_Requests...

Re: Normalize Destructive Behavior ??
Koz, wonderfull, that made me ROTFL (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotfl) On -devel, there is only <<We'd treat this as a bug wouldn't we, considering it ignores plus signs?>> which I had to read twice and therefore it did not make me laugh. Wasn't "I suspect we ought to make you get your clipp...

Re: 100% cpu usage
MP3s are compressed, so would import with the normal progess dialogue irrespective of the Preference setting for reading directly/copying in uncompressed audio. Anyway, the on demand should not be hanging so I've asked Michael to drop in. Does it help though if you turn off any memory hog apps like ...

Re: 100% cpu usage
Hi George Thanks for the report. Just to clarify, when you were importing the MP3 in your screenshot, you would not see the on-demand loading stripes, because on-demand does not work for MP3s. Nor should you have been seeing any messages about waveform calculations in the Status Bar. When you were i...

Re: 1.3.3+ Noise Filter crashes on me every time
Have you got an "NRP" folder inside ~/Library/Application Support/audacity? If so, open the NRP folder and see if it has a noisegate.nrp file in it and if so, delete it. The presence of that file (a noise profile which is only saved when in CleanSpeech mode) used to cause Audacity to crash...

Re: missing menus?
Yes 1.3.5d is for PPC and Intel architectures. 1.3.5 d by default should have all the menus shown here: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/audio/audacity.html I think you may have turned CleanSpeech on by mistake which is a reduced GUI. You can turn it off on the Interface tab of Preferences (und...
