Re: Recording in stereo, comes out mono
Audacity at First Birthday is set to Mono. If you apply a stereo signal to your computer and the computer accepts it, Audacity will pick "Left." In the next Beta 1.3.6, Audacity defaults to stereo recording on first run. What Audacity records if you send it a stereo signal with it set to ...

Re: How to turn data files into audacity files?
Even if you have the AUP Project files, you'd still be dead because the file position and location of the hard drive matter. You can't move Audacity Projects. <<<short of pasting together all the tiny .au's and .auf's?!>>> You can't do that, either. Depending on what you were doing when Audacity we...

Re: Lame.exe and Patent
This isn't a forum for legal queries, and if it was you would probably get different answers from different people. If you want to be safe, sell it only from a web site registered in your own country. Then only your users have to worry about breaking the law if they are in a country that respects so...

Re: 100% cpu usage
Yes it was committed to source code on the 28th, so appeared in the nightly build George tried. Now it's in the code, it will appear whenever we build a 1.3.x release.kozikowski wrote:So has this fix been folded into one of the 1.3.x issues?

Re: Disable VST plugins
Future Betas will probably allow the user to group LADSPA and Nyquist plug-ins together into particular categories, albeit manually.VST plug-ins might be groupable if loaded using VST-bridge, but I don't know about Audio Units. However the below free Mac software claims to be able to arrange which A...

Re: WavPack in 1.3
1.3.6 when it comes out should be able to import Wavpack, if you install the optional FFmpeg library, but not export it, because FFmpeg doesn't.

Re: What's The Easiest Way To Crossfade Two Subsequent Track
Put the two songs on separate tracks and use Time Shift Tool (F5) to align the end of one with a point (say) three seconds into the start of the other. Then use envelope tool (F2) separately on each track to make a smooth fade out where the one track is ending and a smooth fade in where the other is...

Re: Audacity 1.3.6 release date?
What's going on is that we have just released a series of internal 1.3.6alpha builds with new features developed by Google Summer of Code (GSoC) students. Next we polish those new features so they are good enough for 1.3.6 Beta - maybe that will come in a month or two? Then we do one mountain of bug...

Re: Lame.exe and Patent
The whole thing is open to a lot of interpretation, and depends if the software and the user are in a country that respects patent law. If your application is distributed in USA, able to export MP3 but does not include a LAME binary, and the application is free, you're like Audacity and you are prob...
