Re: Setting Audacity for WireWire input?

Hi Audacity is as I thought pretty much hard coded to meter two channels (meaning 1 and 2 if there are more than two). It would be something we'd want to improve later on, at least letting it meter two assigned channels out of a number of them. Leland (our Mac developer) will reply to you shortly ab...

Re: Setting Audacity for WireWire input?

Seems terribly unlikely that Audacity would support multichannel recording with no way to monitor the signal strength. Hi - Steve asked me, and I don't know because I don't have a multi-channel device, though it would not surprise me if this was actually true given our patchy multi-channel support....

Re: Controlling input level - recording clips

Have you tried the "Spin It Again" software that is included with your product? According to the manual it is able to control the record level from the ADS gizmo. I did half notice that before but the confusingly written FAQ made me wonder (at least if Audacity could not control the input...

Re: Controlling input level - recording clips

Looking further, It would appear to be a limitation of the USB device that it does not allow recording software to adjust the input volume? http://www.adstech.com/support/Faq/FaqAnswer.asp?faqId=630 Assuming Audacity is setting the input volume correctly (check the input level in the Windows Control...

Re: does not work with vista

It is a new medion vista pc and it lookes like the drivers are up to date borreken The computer being new is not on Windows a guarantee that the sound device has the best drivers. Sometimes OEM manufacturers just include generic Microsoft drivers, which rarely perform well. What is the name of the ...

Re: NO INPUT DEVICES?

It's known that 1.3.5 crashes on Vista if you click Audio Device info when there is no connected and enabled audio device. It's fixed in our development builds, as noted on our Known Issues page. You can get a fixed development build here . As you will have seen at: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/inde...

Re: No longer can't get audacity to work

So we are assuming that the dll problem is recent, and not connected with upgrading from presumably XP 32-bit to XP 64-bit? I don't see why using the latest development build from CVS would help if 1.3.5 doesn't, and using MINGW to compile is not supported - we use MS Visual Studio. If you want a CV...

Re: Controlling input level - recording clips

The gain control on the Track Panel only affects playback and export, not recording. Are you saying the input volume control on the Audacity Mixer Toolbar has no effect? If not, you could connect from the headphones-out of the receiver to your USB gizmo then the receiver volume control will affect t...
