Re: How to fix Audacity-garbled audio?
Probably it was the bug in the OSS emulation layer in ALSA which occurred when you recorded mono but played back in stereo. There is bad DC offset, but it does not help much to remove it. If the noise going through it is background noise underneath the music (as opposed to distortion occurring in re...

Re: Weird Static happening after starting fine
Insufficient USB bandwidth/using a USB hub? Try recording into line-in if your Mac has one.

View > History and overwriting wave files issues
Hi Some users are getting replicable problems with the subject issues in 1.3.5 and CVS HEAD. Can anyone here replicate them, preferably from CVS HEAD? * This one is quick to check. Click View > History and there is a segmentation fault and Audacity closes without warning. Not dependent on number of ...

There should be an envelope icon to right of the PM icon that says "E-mail" when you hover over it. If you are unable to attach files via e-mail then use yousendit.com or similar - get my address by clicking the same envelope icon. If preferred, simply post the link to the file on yousendi...

Re: does not work with vista
OK. Did you get this driver from realtek or on their advice? Their site seems to suggest now going through the motherboard manufacturer fror driver updates, rather than them offering direct downloads. And of course if this is 64 bit Vista, the sound drivers need to be 64 bit. Does Audacity 1.3.5 Bet...

Re: Setting Audacity for WireWire input?
Ctein, I recall now we did have a couple of instances last month of "unable to open temp files - no such file or directory" errors after recording for a while. They were both on MacBook Pros (Intel). So with hindsight that may have been the same problem. This is probably born of ignorance ...

Re: No audio when recording under Gnome in Fedora 9
This is probably a bit late (or obvious) but you would have to unmute the mic in the playback view in ALSAmixer, And have ALSA:default as Playback Device in Audio I/O tab of Preferences. If that does not work, choose "Software Playthrough" in the same tab, but it does have latency.

Circa 6000 - 8000 Hz for the cut-off? And yes if you want to click the e-mail icon under my username and send me a short (1 minute) WAV file with the words in question, and what you "think" they say, I'll have a quick play with it. Make sure your project rate bottom left of the screen is 4...

Re: per-track bit-depth info and default sample format
If I set default sample format to 16-bit, and then open an Audacity project that was recorded at 32 bits, each track will say "16 bit" at the left, below the track title. But it hasn't actually resampled the track, has it? Is this a bug? If not, what is it trying to tell me? I think the r...

Re: Assistance needed from one well versed with Audacity
You've obviously tried Effect > Amplify? Effect > Low Pass Filter, which might kill the exaggerated sibilants you might get with whispering? Effect > Change Tempo to slow it down a bit but keep the same pitch?
