Re: 1.3.6 problem with Win98
fhub, (or anyone else on Windows 98), would you be able to try this build http://www.gaclrecords.org.uk/audacity-latest-cvs-ansi.zip and see if you have the same problem trying to launch it? I'm not sure it will help, but it may give us some more clues. What I don't understand is that there have onl...

Re: Multi-tracking problem: trk1 copies onto trk2
Mark, Sorry you got a less than useful response on the developers' list, but that isn't the right place to ask user questions (it's meant for developers to discuss coding and program improvements and so on). I've unsubscribed you from that list as I'm sure you don't want to receive all those technic...

Re: Silence after saving
Just saw Koz's question. I imported the songs from a music CD, they continue to reside on my HD in the project folder, so they were not missing. Yes, but as per: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=File_Management_Tips#Avoiding_loss_of_project_audio_due_to_missing_dependent_file the songs ...

Re: Record and Edit Songs at Same Time
Regarding other operating systems, the only time I've had a major crash on my Linux machine was when running two instances of Audacity - could have been coincidence, but I'm not tempted to try it again. On the other hand, I can run Audacity in Linux and another instance (any Windows version) in WIN...

Re: Silence after saving
The trick I learned was to import each song onto a different track. I had been trying to cut and paste segments into the same track and that caused the centers of the segments to be silent. Glad you solved your problem. However, I am puzzled by what you say. You can only import separate files into ...

Re: is there a way to get a known bug on the 'fix' list?
Genuine bug reports (as opposed to "how can I do this in Audacity?" which should come to the Forum) should go to: [email protected].org I can only see four posts specifically about Edirol FA66 and only yours appears to be a problem report. Generally, Beta Audacity supports external USB...

Re: pls help setting batch resample command
hi there - trying to batch convert mp3 files to 48khz WAVs - trying to do it through setting a new chain, there is an export to wav command allready there but not sure how to write the resample command so it would convert the files to 48k without changing pitch any ideas? This is a weakness of the ...
Re: îé÷øåôåï
Are you talking about the Mixer Toolbar input selector? The text for that should be generated by your sound card and possibly translated by the system. If the inputs appear correctly in the sound card and Windows mixer control panels, then there may be something wrong, and I think someone may have m...

Re: Record and Edit Songs at Same Time
No problem if you use 2 computers. Or in fact probably not even a problem on one computer, if you use another application to record, and edit in Audacity with its playback device set to the sound card. If you record in one Audacity window and edit in another Audacity window, playback to the sound c...

Re: Edit metadata dialog
Tommy, the trick is to add the tags common to all tracks at File > Open Metadata Editor (loading a template works too) *before* the export step. Then if you have Metadata Editor turned off in Preferences, you will get your common tags in all the exported files, and the Title and Track Number will be...
