Re: Shortcuts with ALT on Mac
Thanks Koz. ALT-APPLE-C clearly behaves just like CTRL+ALT+C on Windows. CTRL-ALT-C on Mac seems to obey its own rules. But just so I'm clear... does CONTROL-ALT-I actually do an Edit > Split New, *as well as* ALT-APPLE-I (so you have two alternative shortcuts for that command with default keyboard ...

Re: Bug in .aiff export
This is a known problem, but only in Export Multiple with the "Other Uncompressed files" filter, which gives you 16-bit WAV irrespective of what you ask for. Can you confirm the precise menus and dropdowns being used please?
Thanks
Gale

Re: Shortcuts with ALT on Mac
Koz, thanks. I was just typing to you that 1.3.5 and later are fine with OS X 10.4 (or so we think). In fact I suspect Audacity is happier with 10.4 than 10.5 on 32-bit. <<<"Contrast" invites me to ALT-APPLE-C and that works to bring up the dialog box. But it only works one way. It doesn't...

Re: Can't install ffmpeg import/export
Thanks for that, meantime could you delete the dbghelp.dll you downloaded before, and try putting this older version in the Audacity installation folder instead? Just double-click the .exe. That will extract the contents to wherever you want, then take the dbghelp.dll from the "x86" folder...

Re: Shortcuts with ALT on Mac
all the ALT key combinations in 1.3.5 seem to work. ALT-APPLE-K will produce what I'm guessing is a split cut. ALT-APPLE-I produces a second timeline over the original. That's interesting. Both that an ALT shortcut works, which I'd been told they didn't by a couple of people, and that the ALT comes...

Re: Shortcuts with ALT on Mac
Tradition has it the Windows Control key worked like the Apple Command (or Apple) key. My Paste command is Apple-V. Alt / Option and Control keys came later and didn't appear on the early keyboards. The control key was a big deal in OS-X because of its UNIX background. When I'm in a "terminal&...

Shortcuts with ALT on Mac
Longer term we're aiming to tidy up our shortcuts and make them more consistent where possible. Can someone confirm if shortcuts with ALT will work on Mac - e.g. Split New (CMND + ALT + I). I presume they won't, because ALT is not a shortcut modifier on Mac. I assume of course that the shortcut appe...

Re: Can't install ffmpeg import/export
Tested on win me and it's still not working even with the dbghelp.dll OK it may need some other file too, or we may decide to drop the checking routine (but note that even if we retain Windows 98/ME support through to the next stable release (1.4.0), that will likely be the last version for those t...

Re: Audacity MP3s playback at double speed
where is the track dropdown menu? All my old mp3s from audacity started playing this way one day out of the blue, I hadn't even been using the programme lately. Well if that's literally true, then you have to look for the solution somewhere other than Audacity. The Track Dropdown menu is at the top...

Re: Audacity MP3s playback at double speed
I should have mentioned that, I have always set it to 44100Hz. Are you sure you got the file from http://lame.buanzo.com.ar/ and that you pointed Audacity to it properly (that is, "MP3 Export Setup" in the File formats preferences says LAME v3.97)? And you are setting the rate bottom left...
